Subject:Item #24 on Agenda At 7pm
My name is Lydia Salvetta, current president of
republic homes neighborhood association. The
South Side leaders have met with council member
Phil Bacerra, Ward 4 several times and feel that we
are communities of interest (Republic homes,
Thornton park, south coast metro, sunwood central,
metro classic, Sandpointe, Armstrong ranch etc. )
and would like the re-districting to go back to its
original wards. Seems like ward 4 has had many
changes in my tenure.
We also have had meetings with South
Co
ast Alliance and councilmember Bacerra.
Thank you in advance, for your time and
consideration.
Mrs. Salvetta.

Subject:Redistricting
Many of the residents on the south side are concerned about the redistricting of our neighborhood. Historically we were
once one ward. Here is an opportunity to redraw the maps boundaries and place the surrounding neighborhoods into
one ward. We’re asking council, staff and the consultants to unite into one ward and recognize the community interests
of Sandpoint, Metro Classic, Republic Homes, Thornton Park, South Coast Metro, Rosewood Baker, , Sunwood Central
Homeowners Associations and Armstrong Ranch. Being represented as one ward would collectively reflect the interests
of the south sides businesses and homeowners. Kathleen Kuilanoff

Subject:Comment on Item 24 Redistricting
I realize there are not yet proposed redistricting maps. But the city has
hired a consultant to propose new boundaries for our wards in the city. I
would strongly suggest the consultants consider the continuity in
neighbors that have developed in parts of the city.
Like in the south part of the city. Neighborhoods like Metro Classic,
Republic Homes, Thornton Park, Morning Sun Rise and South Coast have
regular meetings to work on similar problems. Similar neighborhoods in
the Mid city and Northern parts of the city have also joined together.
When redrawing the wards the united form by the Neighborhoods should
be considered and not ignored.
