Baker Street. I cannot attend the meeting tomorrow and I do not know the agenda item. This is one of the oldest, well-maintained and wonderful houses in Santa Ana and is listed as "Key" on the Santa Ana historic register. It is located in Washington Square where I own my home. The residents of Washington Square revere the homes in our neighborhood that have a historic character and history. Individually and as members of our Neighborhood Association, we have worked hard to work with the owners and the City to protect these houses. We believe these homes have intrinsic value that is irreplaceable and that they stand as "Crown Jewels" among the homes in Santa Ana and are a benefit to the City of Santa Ana. It is my understanding that the owner has submitted plans that adhere strictly to preserving the character of this house and that the materials that will be used will not detract in any manner from its historic appearance. Clearly, it needs updating to make it a more secure and comfortable place to live. They have been good neighbors and they keep their property in pristine condition. It makes me smile everytime I walk by that house...it never fails to lift my spirits! I hope you will approve their Application. Thank you, bobi keenan 919 Louise Street Santa Ana, CA 92703
