What streets/boundaries define your community? Santa Ana, is a low income latinx community where people fight each other instead of helping each other. The city has been built around white rich cities, that have placed as the home for the homeless. This surrounding has also caused Santa Ana representatives to start a movement toward gentrification, removing the latinx culture Santa Ana was built on. Representatives have also invited unnecessary police activity to criminalize the low income people of color of the city ONLY. There are no youth groups that would help children get to the same level as white rich children in surrounding cities. Also the streets are dirty and the pavement has many cracks on them, it looks the city is not taken care of. What are the major cultural/recreational/educational/religious institutions in your community? Hazard Elementary School, Rosita Elementary Los Amigos HIgh School, Santiago High School Newhope Public Library Rosita Park Cesar Chavez Park Santa Ana Community College Do you have concerns about the current boundaries of your Ward? 1 I do not even know what that means. That being said if someone who has a college education does not even understand this question, I wonder what the rest of the population that might not have time to even look into this have to say? This is where the audience and decision of representatives are not representing Santa Ana as a whole, but rather those who have time and dont struggle with a language barrier. It is not that people do not care, it is the fact this information is not as known as people in the city council might think. Other Comments: This ward situation sounds like another form of redlining, where people are trying to reshape Santa Ana in a form that many low income people again who do not have time dont have a say in this, get pushed around to the liking of others who have better access to this information, please note at the time I filled this application I did not see one Spanish form filled out. 2
