Edinger to sell alcohol for his patrons to consume when they are there. I think it is tooo close to schools. I count 10 schools in the area from McFadden South to Harvard (Where Valley High School ends.) And, Fairview East to Raitt. (Where Carl Harvey School ends.) I decided to go to Mc Fadden because I wanted to include Jackson Elem in the list because it is basically at the NW corner of Fairview and Edinger. But the school area almost goes to McFadden. 1. Godinez Fundamental High School-Entrance on Fairview - 3002 Centennial Rd. 2. Valley High School - 1801 S. Greenville 3. Carl Harvey Elementary - 1635 S. Center 4. Carr Intermediate School - 2120 W. Edinger 5. Diamond Elementary School - 1450 S. Center 6. Sunflower Preschool & Kindergarten - 2129 W. Edinger 7. Mitchell Child Development Center - Elementary School - Near Godinez Fundamental High School 8. Andrew Jackson Elementary School - 1143 S. Nakoma Dr. - Fairview and Edinger 9. Santa Ana College - has classes at Centennial Park - Fairview and Edinger 10. Mexican American Pre-School - 2033 W. Edinger There are churches in that area and near by that may have classes going on during the day and evening. They may have pre-school and after school care also. Which means more cars on the street. People picking up children after they have worked. We really do not need people who have been drinking alcohol driving in these neighborhoods. 1. Salvation Army Church - 1710 W. Edinger 2. 7th Day Adventist Church - 2101 W. Edinger 3. OC Vietnamese Church - 2103 W. Edinger 4. Western Territorial Church - 1710 W. Edinger 5. Church of the Nazarene AKA Edinger Church of the Nazarene - 2033 W. Edinger 6. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church - 1100 S. Center St. (Mc Fadden) There are other schools which are not in the area but near by: 1. Adams Elementary - 2130 S. Raitt (Warner & Raitt) 2. Mater Dei High School - 1202 W. Edinger (SE Corner of Bristol and Edinger) 3. Lorin Griset Academy - NW Corner Raitt & McFadden 4. Monte Vista Elem. - NE Corner Monte Vista & Center 5. King Elementary - NW Corner McFadden & Bristol Be aware the Church of the Nazarene has a pre-school called Mexican American Pre-School. It is probably not the only church in the area that has a pre-school. I think the restaurant is tooo close to homes to be selling alcohol to be consumed at their restaurant and their patrons will drive their cars to wherever they want to go. Not many areas have 10 schools that near to each other!!! Part of this area is called Santa Ana Gardens. This area is family oriented. Consequently, there are lots of adults of all ages, lots of children of all ages, lots of relatives of all ages, including cousins, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. Consequently, they visit each other often. To have to have 10 schools in an area there has to be a lot of children from ages 6 - 18. Plus, there are 2 known preschools with children under the age of 6. We don't know how many unknown preschools there are in the area. An Aunt, a parent, a Grandmother providing child care for a relatives child, or their own child or children. Children are not always careful when crossing the streets. Mothers taking care of children may think she can beat the car to her child or not check for cars if she sees her child in the street. If the driver is driving after consuming alcohol, he/she may not have the capacity to stop the car in time to save the child or the Mother!! This is not an area for a restaurant to have clients consuming alcohol and after the clients have consumed alcohol to drive their cars elsewhere! I know alcohol can be bought at the market and other stores in the area. But, hopefully, they just buy it and consume it at home or wherever and not at the market and then drive!!! How many times have you been with someone who has consumed alcohol at a restaurant and then they drove home and you prayed they made it home safe? How many times have you or someone you know ate, consumed alcohol, and drove home. You arrived home safe and thanked God for getting you home safe? How many times have you told someone you were with not to drive because of the alcohol they drank? People going to the restaurant will not just be from the surrounding area. They may be going to work and stopping by for something. They may be stopping off after work. I will say it again, with all the schools in the area, there are a lot of people in the area.
