TOPIC: Purchase of Ford Transit T-350 Van
AGENDA TITLE
Award a Purchase Order to Transwest Truck Center LLC for a Ford Transit T-350 Van in
the Amount of $73,665 (Specification No. 22-073) (Cannabis Public Benefit Fund)
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Transwest Truck
Center LLC for the purchase a Ford Transit T-350 van for the Parks, Recreation and
Community Services Agency, in the amount of $68,665 plus a contingency of $5,000, for
a total amount not to exceed $73,665, subject to non-substantive changes approved by
the City Manager and City Attorney.
DISCUSSION
The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency (PRCSA) is pursuing alternative
methods to bring services to the community. In an effort to expand service provision,
PRCSA has developed a Recreation Mobile concept, which utilizes a Ford Transit T-350
van to bring programs and services to the neighborhoods. The Recreation Mobile will be
stocked with recreation equipment and activities, and the route will be coordinated with
the Zoo’s Zoomobile and the Library’s Knowledge Mobile to provide residents with a full
range of programing at their doorstep.
The Notice Inviting Bids for a Ford Transit T-350 van was advertised on March 19, 2022,
on the City’s online bid management and publication system. A summary of the bid
invitation and bids received is as follows:

The bid from Transwest Truck Center LLC in Fontana, CA is responsive to the
specifications and meets the City’s requirements. As such, staff recommends Cauncil
authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Transwest Truck Center
LLC for the purchase a Ford Transit T-350 van for the Parks, Recreation and Community
Services Agency.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
There is no environmental impact associated with the action.
