Protecting and Enhancing Local Control is at the
Core of Cal Cities Mission
•Since 1898, Cal Cities has fought to protect and
enhance local control.
•Over the past decade, Cal Cities has secured hundreds
of significant victories for its members.
•Cal Cities harnesses the voice and collective power of
its 476 member cities, representing thousands of city
officials and the millions of California residents they
serve.

Cal Cities is Membership Driven
•Cal Cities’ policy positions are entirely driven by members –city
officials just like you.
•Cal Cities recognizes that constantly listening and learning is
essential to ensure representation of the diverse interests of our
membership.
•Cal Cities will remain steadfast to ensure state policy approaches
to housing and other matters protect local control.
•Together, we will ensure that Cal Cities continues to deliver.

•16 Regional Divisions: The Orange County Division represents 33 cities and is led by
its own Board of Directors. In August, our new President, La Palma Mayor Pro Tem
Marshall Goodman, and the entire Board were elected by the 33 member cities.
•10 Professional Departments: City Attorneys; City Clerks; City Managers; Fire Chiefs;
Fiscal Officers; Mayors and Council Members; Personnel and Employee Relations;
Planning and Community Development; Public Works Directors
•5 Diversity Caucuses: African American Caucus; Asian Pacific Islander Caucus;
Latino Caucus; LGBTQ Caucus; Women’s Caucus
•7 Policy Committees: Community Services; Environmental Quality; Governance,
Transparency and Labor Relations; Housing Community and Economic Development;
Public Safety; Revenue and Taxation; Transportation, Communications and Public Works
