Construction Management
On August 15, 2023, Council Awarded design agreement to ELS
Architecture and Urban Design. The Project is in plan check.
On March 12, 2024 staff issued Request for Proposals for Construction
Management Services
Construction Management Services include:
•Constructability review
•Contractor prequalification
•Bid evaluations
•Inspection
•Project management
•Commissioning and Project Close out
•Post construction services if necessary to resolve disputes with contractor

Aquatic Facility Mural
Staff & Design consultant has conducted outreach and research regarding
the existing Chicano Gothic Mural
Protecting the mural in place is both feasible and the preferred option.
Staff is hiring Mural Colors, a firm which specializes in murals to provide:
•An assessment of the artwork
•A performance specification and detailed scope of work to be performed
before, during and after construction
•Recommendations on bracing and securing the wall
•Cost estimates
These professional recommendations will be vetted through the Arts & Culture
Commission and incorporated in the final design construction documents (blue
prints & contract specifications)

Inspection Services
•Perform contractor pre-qualification

•Advertise project for bid
•Return to Council in Fall 2024 to approve
construction contract
