AN ORDINANCE AMEiqDING "SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE" BY
ADDING THERETO SECTION 3233 PRESCRIBING A MAXIMUM
SPEED LIMIT ON DELHI ROAD
WHEREAS, an engineering and traffic investigation cf the
vehicular traffic moving on Delhi Road indicates that the provisions
of the Vehicle Code of the State of California fixing a prima facie
speed limit of 55 miles per hour are applicable and that such a
speed is unsafe and constitutes a present and continuing hazard
to persons and property upon such Road because of the side streets
entering the same and the condition of the roadway itself; there
being traffic barriers in the middle of said Road necessitated by
the presence of an underlying sewer trunk line which is in a weak-
ened and deteriorated condition so that vehicular traffic passing
over the same might occasion a collapse of the sewer pipe and cause
a cavein; and there being upon or adjacent to said Road, two elemen-
tary schools;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the "SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE" be amended by
adding a new Section to be known and numbered as 3233 at the end of
Chapter 2 of Article III to read as follows:
"Section 3233. Speed Limit on Delhi Road.
No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed greater
than 35 miles per hour on Delhi Road as the same exists
in the City of Santa Aha from the East City Limits to
the West City Limits of said City."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in three issues of
the Santa Aha Register, a newspaper printed, published, and circu-
lated in the City of Santa Aha and hereby designated for that purpose.
This Ordinance shall take e£feet 30 days from and after the day
· on which it is passed and adopted.
