INTENTION TO ~CQUIRE AND IMPROVE CERTAIN REAL rROPERTY IN
THE CITY OF SANCTA A~A, CALIFORNIA AS VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT
LOT NO. I
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That after study, it does find, determine and de-
clare that the public interest and necessity require the acquisition
and improvement of certain real property hereinbelow described as a
Vehicle Parking Lot; that said property is necessary for said pur-
pose; that it intends to form Vehicle Parking District No. 1 under
the authority contained in the Vehicle Parking District Law of 1943.
SECTION 2. That the number of the proposed Vehicle Parking Dis-
trict is No. 1. That the land to be included within said Vehicle
Parking District is described as:
That portion of Section 7, T. 5 S., R. 9 W., S.B.B. & M.
in the City of Santa Aha, State of California, described as
follows:
Ail of Blocks 15, 16, 17, 18, 23 and 24, in the "Original
Town of ~anta Ana" as shown on a map thereof recorded in
Book 2 at Page 51 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, California.
SECTION 3- That a general ~escription of the land to be acquired
for parking places which lands are wholly within the City of Santa
Aha, California and are described as follows:
The North 10(~ feet of Block 17 as shown on a map of
"Original Town of Santa Aha" recorded in Book 2, Page 51 of
Miscellaneous Maps of Los Angeles County, California.
SECTION 4- That the total estfmAted cost and expense of said
proposed acquisition and improvement is $134,000.00; that the City
of Santa Aha will contribute $37,500.00 to be used in said acquisition
and improvement, leaving a total estimated cost of $96,500.00 to be
paid by the owners of property within said District or assessed against
the property in said District; that it is proposed to levy assessments
to pay said $96,500.00 under the Vehicle Parking District Law of 1943-
SECTION 5- That it is proposed that bonds are to be issued
representing all unpaid assessments against the property in said
District 30 days after the date of recording the assessment, said
bonds to extend over a period of nine years from the 2nd day of
January, next succeeding, the next October 15th following their
date and that the maximum interest rate to be paid on said bonds
shall be 6 per cent per annum.
SECTION 6. That the general description of the improvements
proposed to be made, done or constructed, and the unit and total
cost price of each, is as follows:

SECTION 7- That the l~h day of November, 1954 at the hour of
7:30 o,clock P. M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Third
and Main Streets, Santa Aha, California is hereby fixed as the time
and place for hearing protests and objections and that not later
than said time fixed for said hearing, any owner of or person inter-
ested in, any land within the proposed Vehicle Parking District No.
1 may, severally, or with other owners, file with the Clerk of the
Council, written objection to the things proposed to be done herein
or to the extent of the proposed Vehicle Parking District No. l, or
both.

SECTION 8. That the Clerk of the Council is hereby directed
to cause copies of this Ordinance to be mailed and posted as re-
quired by Sections 31543, 31545 and 31546 of the Streets and High-
ways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 9. The Clerk of the Council shall certify to the pas-
sage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published once a week for two successive weeks in the ~anta Ana
Independent, the official newspaper of the City. This O~-dtnAnce
shall take effect 30 days from and after the date of its final
adoption.
