HomeMy WebLinkAboutNS-080ORDINANCE NO. NS-80 AMENDING SECTION 9111, CHAPTER 1, ARTICLE IX OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD CERTAIN USES TO THOSE PROHIBITED IN AN M-1 (MANUFACTURING) DISTRICT. WHEP~EAS, after recommendation by the Planning Commission made after a public hearing and after public hearing before the City Council all held and conducted as required by law, the City Council finds that the public health, safety and welfare require the changes so recommended and hereinbelow set out. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANADOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Section 9111 of Article IX of the Santa Ana Municipal Code be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 9111. M-1 (MANUFACTURING DISTRICT) USES PERMIT~£~ED. (a) All uses permitted in R-l, R-2, R-3, P, C, C-t and C-2 Districts but under the same limitations and restrictions as specified in Sections governing same. (b) Any use other than the following which are expressly prohibited: 1. Abattoir (except poultry dressing for retail sales from premises), 2. Auto wrecking~ 3. Asphalt, mixing, refining and storage plants, 4. Absorption plants, 5. Bag manufacturing and cleaning, 6. Blast furnace, 7. Boiler works, 8. Bunkers, rock and/or sand, 9. Coke ovens, 10. Cooperage works: 11. Cordage m~lls, 12. Creosote stor~e or manufacturing, Crude oil handling, and/or transshipping, Distillation of coal, wood or bone, 15. Distillation of liquor or spirits, 16. Fat rendering, 17. Fertilizer works, 18. Foundries, 19. 20. 21. 23. Fur or Hide curing and tanning, Garbage incineration, reduction or dumping (private), Incineration, commercial, J~nW yards, Salvage yards, Manufacturing of: 22.1 Acetylene gas, 22.2 Acids, 22.3 ~l~mt uum, 22.~ Ammonia, 22.5 Ammunition, 22.6 Aniline dye, 22.7 Asbestos products, 22.8 Asphalt, 22.9 Bleaching powder, 22.10 Bricks, 22.11 Caoutchouc products, 22.12 Carborundum products~ 22.13 Casein products, 22.14 Celluloid, 22.15 Cement, 22.16 Chalk, 22.17 Charcoal, 22.19 Cl&y products~ 22.20 Coal tar products, 22.21 Cottonseed oil, 22.22 Disinfectants, 22.23 Explosives, 22.24 Felt~ 22.25 Fertilizer, 22.26 Fireworks, 22.27 Glue, 22.28 Graphite, 22.29 Grease and tallow, -2- Gunpowder, Gutta percha, Gypsum, Hide s, Kalsomine, Lamp black, Lard, Linseed oil, Matches, Oil cloth, Oleomargarine, Ordnance, Oxygen gas, Paint and lacquer, Paper and paper pulp, Pickles, Plaster of Paris, Potash, Printing ink, pum-I ce, Sauerkraut, Shellac and varnish, Size and glue, 22.54~~ Snuff, 22 · 55 22.56 22.57 22.58 22.59 2.2.60 ee.61 22 · 62 Soap, soda and washing compounds, Tar and tar products, Turpentine, Vinegar, W~ste paper products, Wood pulp, Yeast, -3- 22.63 22.64 22 · 65 22.66 22.67 22.68 22.70 22.71 22.72 22.74 22.75 22.76 SECTION 2. The Zinc products~ Oil drilling, Oil refining, Quarries, Refuse--incineration or reduction, Rock crushing, RoLling mills, SheLl grinding, Smelters, Stockyards, Tanneries~ Terra Cott~, Tile, Wood scouring and pulling." Clerk of the Council shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and sba11 cause the same to be published within 15 days after its adoption, in one issue of the Sant~ Aha Independent. This Ordinance sb~11 take effect 30 days from and after the date of its final adoption.
