CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED "WEST OF SANTIAGO ANNEX"
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did on
September 6, 1955 declare its intention to annex certain uninhabited ter-
ritory by Resolution No. 55-235, which said Resolution was regularly
published as required by law, and which said Resolution gave due no-
tice of public hearing to be held on October
WHEREAS, at said hearing there were no

NOW, THEP~FOHE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That after due hearing, it finds that there was no
protest to the annexation of the territory herein described, that due
notice of the time and place of hearing was given; that said terri-
tory was wholly uninhabited at the time the petition for annexation
was filed; that said territory is contiguous to the City or'Santa Ana,
California; that written consent of all the owners was filed with the
Clerk of the Council prior to the adoption of this Ordinance, agree-
lng that all property within said territory shall be taxed to pay any
indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to or existing
at the time of annexation and that said property shall be so taxed.
SECTION 2. That all of the territory situated in the County of
Orange, State of California, described as:
Beginning at the intersection of the Northerly boundary
line of the City of Santa Aha with the Westerly right of way line
of Santiago Street (60 feet in width) as now established, and
running thence from said point of beginning, S. 88° 39' 50"
along said City boundary line 839.51 feet to the West line of
that certain tract of land conveyed by Margaret Cummings to
John A. Engel as described in Deed recorded in Book 186, Page
209, Records of Orange County, California, said West line also
being the West line of Parcel 2, as described in Deed to Er m ma L.
Roberts and Ray B. Roberts, recorded in Book 760, Page 261, of
Official Records of said Orange County; thence No. 1° 24' 2o" E.,
along said West line, 670.34 feet to the Northwest corner of
said Parcel 2 referred to above, said Northwest corner also
being in the ~outherly line of the right of way acquired by the
Pacific Electric Railway Company and later conveyed t? Roger R..
Engel, et al, by a Quit Claim Deed recorded in Book 1~08, Page 433
of Official Records of said Orange County, thence N. 89 46 00
E., along said Southerly right of way line and along the Southerly
line of the right of way conveyed by Quit Claim Deeds to R. B.
Newcom, recorded in Book 1459, Page 5??, Official Records of
said Orange County, and to Ernest Knaak, recorded in Book 1503,
Page 311, Official Records of said Orange County, 468.50 feet to
the beginning of a curve tangent, concave Northerly and having
a radius of 2113.68 feet, said beginning of curve being in the
Southerly llne of the right of way conveyed by Aaron Engel,
et ux, to the Pacific Electric Railway Company by deed recorded
in Book 224, Page 239 of Deeds, Records of said Orange County
and later conveyed by said Pacific Electric Railway Company to
Ernst Knaak and Emma Knaak by a Quit Claim Deed recorded in
Book 1503, Page 311, Official Records of said Orange County;
thence Easterly alon~ said Southerly right of way line, through
a central angle of 1E° 28' 13", 533.82 feet to an intersection
with the Westerly line of the right of way for the above men-
tioned Santiago Street, said point being on a curve concave
Northwesterly and having a radius of 420.00 feet; thence South-
westerly along said curve through a central angle of 8° 45' 00"
an arc distance of 64.14 feet to a line tangent; thence South
36° 05' 50" West along said tangent line, 80.05 feet to the
beginning of a tangent curve concave Southeasterly and having a
radius of 480.00 feet; thence Southwesterly along said curve
through a central angle of 36o 00' 00" an arc distance of 301.59
feet to a line tangent; thence South 0° 05' 50" West along said
tangent line 320.50 feet to the point of beginning.
Containing 13.195 acres, more or less.
All bearings and distances are as shown on a licensed Sur-
veyor's map filed in Book 29 at Page 34, Record of Survey in
the Office of the County Recorder of Orange County, California~
be and the same is hereby annexed to and shall become a part of the
City of ~anta Ana, the Santa Ana Elementary School District, Santa Ana
High School District and Santa Aha Junior College District, and said
annexation is by this Ordinance effected, approved and declared.
SECTION 3. The Clerk of the Council shall certify to the pas-
sage of this Ordinance and
15 days after its adoption,
shall cause the same to be published within
in one issue of the Santa Aha Independent.
This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after the date of
its final adoption.
