FIRE ZONES BY ~G SECTION 8101 OF THE SANTA
ANA MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADDING NEW SECTIONS THERETO
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 8101 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 8lO1. Fire Zones C~eated.
The.entire incorporated area of the City is hereby estab-
lished as a Fire District, and ssi d Fire District is hereby
divided into three zones to be designated as Fire Zones l,
2, and 3- Fire Zone No. i and Fire Zone No. 2 shall contain
territory as set out in Sections 8lO1.1 and 8101.2, respect-
ively, and Fire Zone No. 3 shall include al i territory within
the City which lies outside of Fire Zones No. i and 2. ~
The Council hereby officially adopts that certain map
entitled 'FIPJ~ ZONES OF ~ CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA,
and the tis ~k of the Council is hereby directed to .file the
same with the original copy of this Ordinance for public in-
spection and reference. Said map, and the description of Fire
Zones i and 2 are established and shall regulate the type of
buildings permitted within their respective areas, and shall
have the restrictions as provided for in the Uniform Building.
Code in effect within the City, and shsil have application
wherever any Ordinance of the City shall refer to the Fire
Zones of the City. ,,
SECTION 2. The Ss~ta Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by
adding thereto two new sections, to be known as Sections 8lO1.1 and
8101.2, immediately following Section 8101, in words and figures as
follows:
"Section 8lO1.1. Fire Zone i Boundaries.
All the real property within the City lying within the
exterior boundary lines in this Section set out shall con-
stitute Fire Zone No. i of the City, to-wit:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of l?th and Bush Streets~
and ~unntng thence from point to point as follows:
To the Southeast corner of l?th and Sycm~o~e; thence to the
Southeast co~ner of 10th and Sycamore; thence to the Southeast
corner of 10th and Birch; thence to the Southeast co~ner of 8th
and BirCh; thence to the Southeast co~ner of 8th and Va~ Ness;
thence to the Southeast co~ner of 5th and Van Ness; thence to
the Southeast corner of 5th and Patton; thence to the Northeast
corner of 3rd and Patton; thence to the Northeast corner of
3rd and Birch; thence to the Northeast corner of 1st and Birch;
thence to the Northeast corner of 1st and Broadway; thence to
the Northeast corner of Walnut and B~o adw~; thence to the North-
east corner of Walnut and Sycs~ore; thence to the Northeast
corner of Chestnut and Sycamore; thence to the Northeast corner
of Chestnut and the alley ~unning Nort~ and South between Main
and Bush; thence North al cng said alley to

the North line of 3rd with the Southerly prolongation of the

3~d ard 4th, to Lacy; thence North to the Southwest corner of
the intersection of Lacy with an alley running East and West,
between 4th and ~th; thence West in a straight line to the
West side of Mortimer; thence North to the Southwest corner of
~th and Mortimer; thence to the Southwest corner of ~th and
French; thence to the Southwest corner of 6th ~ud French;
thence to the Southwest corner of 6th & Bush; thence North
along the Westerly side of Bush to the point of beginning.
"Section 8101.2. Fire Zone 2 Boundaries.
All real property within the City lying within the exterior
boundary lines in this Section set out, except that certain real

property bounded in Section 8101.1 and designated Fire' Zone
l, is designated Fire Zone 2, as follows to-wit:
Beginning at a point on the North City boundary 280 feet
West of the West line of ~,~ain; thence South to a point 12~
feet North of the North line of 17th; thence West in a straight
line to the Westerly City Limits; thence following along the
City Limite line to a point thereon 200 feet South of 17th;
thence East in a straight line to a point 17~ feet West of
Broadway; thence South in a straight line to the South side
of 10th; thence to the Southeast.corner of 10th and Durant;
thence South to a point 320 feet North of 8th; thence West
in a straight line to Patton; thence to the Southeast corner
of 6th and Patton; thence to the Southeast corner of 6th and
Flu er; thence South to a point 125 feet North of the Northwest
corner of 5th and Flower; thence West in a straight line to a
point 125 feet North of the Northeast corner of 5th and Bristol;
thence tothe Northwest corner of 5th and Bristol; thence to
a point 210 feet West of the Northeast corner of 5th md
Bristol; thence South in a straight line to a point 122 feet
North of lst; thence West in a straight line to Ar$esia; thence
South to a point 125 feet South of the Southeast corner of 1st
and Artesia; thence East in a straight line to Pacific; thence
South to the Northeast corner of Pacific a~d Walnut; thence to
a point 15O feet East of the Northeast corner of Walnut and
Bristol; thence North to a point 135 feet North ~f Walnut;
thence East in a straight line to the East side of Birch; thence
to the Northeast corner of Walnut sad Birch; thence to the
Northeast corner of Walnut and B~ adway; thence to the North-
east corner of Chestnut and Broadway; thence to a point 125
feet West of ~ain; thence Southerly in a straight line to Delhi
Road and the City Limits line; thence continuing Southerly and
along the City Limits line to a point 125 feet East of Main on
Dyer; thence North in a straight line to the North side of
Chestnut; t~ence to the Southeast corner of Chestnut and Cypress;

the Southwest co~ner of the intersection of Pine with an alley
running North and Southbetween Orange and ~iap le; thence North
along the al ley to the North line of Walnut; thence to the
Southeast corner of Walnut and Cedar; thence to the Northeast
corner of 1st and Cedar; thence to the Southeast corner of 1st
and Garfield; thence to the Southwest corner of 6th and Garfield;
thence to the Southeast corner of 6th andFrench; thence to the
Northwest corner of 6th and French; thence to the Southwest
corner of Washington and French; thence to the Northwest corner
of Washington and Spurgeon; thence North along the East side of
Spurgeon to a point 125 feet South of 17th; thence East in a
straight line to Lincoln; thence North along the West side of
Lincoln to a point 125 feet North of 17th; thence West in a
straight line to theWest side of Bush; thence North al ong the
West side of Bush and its Northerly prolongation to its inter-
section with the North City Limits line on the Easterly side of
Main; thence continuing Westerly and Northerly alon~ the City
Limits line to the point of begtnuing."
SECTION 3- This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after
the date of its adoption.
