THE CITY OOUNCIL OF ~-LE CITY OP SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Section 3302 of the Uniform Building Code,
1955 edition, adopted by Ordinance NS-I~7, is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"Sec. 3302. (a) Number of Persons. The number of persons
permitted in any building or portion thereof shall not exceed
those set forth in Table No. 33-A, except that where addi-
tional exit facilities are provided the occupancy load may be
increased in accordance with Section 3302 (b) and (c).
(b) Number of Exits. Buildings, or portions thereof, hav-
ing an occup~t load of more tha~ 50 shall have not less than
two exits.
Buildings, c~ portions thereof, having an occupant load
of 500 to 999 shall have not ~ ss than three exits.
Buildings, c~ portions thereof having an occupant load of
1000 or more shall have not less than four exits.
Basements or cellars used for other than service of the
building, shall have not less th~ ~wu exits, except that any
basement or cellar that is completely sprinklere~has at least
2-hour fire resistant walls and ceiling, contains no more than
2000 square feet of area excluding a room~ houa~only mechan-
ical equipment for service to the building, has no area which
is more ~an 50 feet from the exit, and is not used as a regu-
lar work area for employees, or for retail sales, may have one
exit only."
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days lmm and
after the date of its adoption.
