THE CITY COUNCIL OF 5HE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Santa Ana Municipal Code be amended by
amending Section 8;~;!1.4 to read as follows:
"Section 8441.4. Same. Exceptions.
The provisions of Section 8;~4! shall not apply to any sign
or sign structure constructed, painted or maintained on a
building on which the advertising is limited to:
(a) The name of the building whereon the sign is located.
(b) The name of the person, firm or corporation occupying
the building and the type of business conducted by such person,
firm or corporation.
(c) The name of the product manufactured in the building.
(d) Advertising which is strictly incidental and subordinate
to ~he lawful use of the premises on which it is located, in-
cluding signs advertising services rendered or goods sold in
the building, but no such advertising or signs shall exceed
forty square feet in area.
(e) No exception shall be constm ed as permitting any siva
for which any considerati~ is paid or given to the owner or
occupant of the building or prenises to permit its location
or maintenance."
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shail take effect 30 days from and
after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha
at its regular meeting held on the 15th day.~f Septembe~ 1958.

2nd day of September, 1958, and ~was again considered by said Council
at its regular meeting held on tae 15th day of September, 1958, and
was at said meeting regularly passed and adopted by said Council by
the following vote, to-wit:
