HomeMy WebLinkAboutNS-386ORDINANCE NO. NS-386 DECLARING IHE ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED "VERANO AND HAZARD N. E. AI~NE~" WHEREAS, the City Council Of the City of Santa Aha did, on May 18~ 1959, declare its intention to annex certain uninhabited territory by Resolution No. 59-124, which said Resolution was regularly publish- ed as required by law, and gave due notice of a public hearing to be held July 6, 19~9, which said hearing was regularly held; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~HE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWB: SECTION 1. That after due hearing, it finds that due notice of the time and place of hearing was given; that protest to said annexation was not made by the owners of one-half of the val~ of said territory, as declared by Resolution No. 59-189; that said territory was uninhab- ited at the time said Resolution No. 59-124 was adopted initiating this procedure; that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana and that said .territory shall not be taxed to pay any indebtedness of the City existing at the time of this ar~exation. SECTION 2. That all of the territory situated in t he County of Orange, S'tate of California, described as: B~ginning at the intersection of the west line of Verano Street, (60.00'~ feet wide), and the westerly extension of the north line of the southwest one-quarter of the southwest one-quarter of the northwest one-quarter of Section 9, Township 5 South, R~ge l0 ~est, San Bernardino Base and Meridian; said point of beginning being an angle point in theCtty boundary of the City of Santa Ana, California; and running thence easterly along said City bound- ary and along said North line and its westerly extension to the West line of the East one-half of the southwest one-quarter of the southwest oneAquarter of the northwest one-quarter of said Section 9 and to an angle point in said City boundary; thence southerly along said City boundary and along said West line md its southerly extension to a line parallel with and 30.00 feet southerly, measured at right angles from the centerline of Hazard Avenue and to an angle point in said City boundary; thence westerly along said parallel line and along said City boundary to the West line of Verano Street (60.00 feet wide), and to an angle point in said City boundary; thence northerly along said West line of Vera~ Street and along said City boundary 10.00 feet to an angle point in said City boundary; thence northerly departing from said City boundary along a line parallel with and 30.00 feet westerly measured at right angles from the center- line of said Verano Street ko the westerly extension of the North line of the southwest one-quarter of the southwest one- quarter of the Northwest one-quarter of ~aid Section ~,.~d to the point of beginning, and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Santa Ana, and said a~exation is by this O~dinance effected, approved ~ d declared. SECTION 3- This Ordinance shall take effect 30 days from and after the date of its adoption.
