N$-507 PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN THE CItY OF SAI~A ANA, CALIFOR/~IA, AA~D IN THOSE PORTIONS OF THE SANTA ANA SCHOOL DISTRICTS LYING OUTSIDE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, ON APRIL 4TH, 1961, FOR THE ELECTION OF CITY OFFICERS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN'~A ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That a General Municipal Election called and provided for by Resolution No. 61-h6 shall be held on the 4th day of April, 1961, in the City of Santa Ana, California, and in those portions of the Santa Aha School Districts lying outside of the City of Santa Ana, and the Voting Precincts shall be those 85 Voting Precincts established by said Resolution, and the Precinct Board for each Precinct shall consist of those Election Officers appointed by this City Council by said Resolution. SECTION 2. That each Precinct Board shall consist of one (1) Inspector, one (1) Judge and two (2) Clerks, and they shall receive the following compensation: Inspector, $21.00; Judge and Clerks, $18.00 each for their work as such Officers during said Election; and the owners of privately owned Polling Places used in said Elec- tion shall receive for such use the sum of $10.00. SECTION 3. 'That the Polls shall be opened at 7:00 A.M. on the day of said Election and shall be kept open until 7:00 P.M. of said day, at which time the Polls shall be closed. Said Election shall be held and conducted in accordance with the laws regulating municipal elections in General Law cities and with the election laws of the State of California. SECTION 4. That said General Municipal Election is provided and held to elect three (3) members of the City Council from among the nominees nominated from Wards One, Three and Five. Said members of the City Council shall be elected by the vote of the registered -1- electors at large throughout the city and to elect three (3) members of the Board of Education who shall be elected from among those nom- inated by the vote of the registered electors within the City of Santa Aha and within those portions of the Santa Aha School Distrlc%s, or any of them, lying outside of the City. SECTION 5. The Clerk of the Council shall publish a list of the nominees and the offices for which they have been nominated, a list giving the address of each of the Polling Places for each of said 85 Voting Precincts, together with the names of the Election Officers appointed to serve in each Polling Place; shall instruct the Election Officers; is hereby authorized to find and appoint substi- tutes for any Election Officer appointed by the Council who is unable or unwilling to serve in such capacity; shall provide through the printer of election supplies authorized by the City Council ballots in the form and number required by law, forms of declaration, tallies, instruction manuals and all other supplies necessary for the holding of said Election as required by law; and shall be responsible for every detail prior to and during the holding of said Election. SECTION 6. The Clerk of the Council shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published once after its adoption. %~is Ordinance shall take effect on the date of its publication.
