CLASSIFICATION ON AMENDMENT APPLICATION 464
AND AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAP 9-5-10

COMMISSION RECOMMENDED DENIAL
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice of and duly
held public hearings on Amendment Application No. 464, filed by
BARBARA J. HIDLE for a change in District classification from the
A-1 District to the R-2 District, and on September 23, 1963, basing
their decision on the fact that Special Study %26, which involves
the area where applicant's property is located, had not been
completed, said Commission recommended denial of said reclassification;
and
WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of said. Planning Commission
held on November 11, 1963, after the conclusion of Special Study %26,
said Commission, realizing that they could not legally change their
formal decision, recommended to the City Council that Amendment
Application No. 464 is consistent with the results of said Special
Study; and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing on
notice and does not find that the Planning Commission should be over-
ruled; that the public necessity, convenience and general welfare
require the following amendment and that the use under the new classi-
fication would not be detrimental to the surrounding property.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE.CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOW~:
SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
Beginning at a point on the center line of Newhope Street
located 379.5 feet, more or less, southerly frown that point
where the center line of Newhope Street intersects the
center line of Fifth Street; thence southerly along the
center line of Newhope Street for a distance of 296.6 feet,
more or less; thence westerly along a line approximately
parallel to the center line of Fifth Street for a distance
of 660.9 feet, more or less; thence northerly along a line
approximately parallel to the center line of Newhope Street
for a distance of 296.6 feet, more or less; thence easterly
along a line approximately parallel to the center line of
Fifth Street for a distance of 660.9 feet, more or less, to
the point of beginning,
is hereby reclassified from the A-1 District to the R-2 District and
Sectional District Map 9-5-10 is hereby amended to show said reclassi-
fication in accordance with Exhibit AA 464 A.
SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
from and after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
the 16th day of December, 1963.
