OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 3,
1964, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE
VOTERS A CHARTER AMENDMENT TO INCREASE THE
SALARY OF THE COUNCILMEN AND THE MAYOR
WHEREAS, on August 3, 1964, the City Council adopted
Resolution 64-116 providing the details for an election on a
proposition to be submitted to the voters of the City proposing
to amend the Charter of the City of ~ Santa Ana to increase the
salary of the councilmen and of the mayor.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That a Special Municipal Election is hereby
called and shall be held on November 3, 1964, to submit to the
electors of the City of Santa Ana a proposition in words and
figures as follows:

to provide that each member of the City : : :
Council shall receive $250.00 each month : : :
as compensation for his services and the : : :
member elected by the City Council to fill : NO : :
the office of Mayor shall receive an : : :
additional amount each month of $50.00? : : :
Any voter desiring to vote in favor of the Charter amend-
ment shall mark a cross in the box immediately to the right of the
word "YES"; any voter desiring to vote against said Charter amend-
ment shall mark a cross immediately to the right of the word "NO".
The existing Charter provides that each member of the City
Council shall receive as compensation for his services a monthly
salary in the sum of $125.00 and that the member elected by the
City Council to fill the office of Mayor shall receive the additional
amount of $75.00.
SECTION 2: That this Ordinance, being an ordinance calling
and otherwise relating to an election, shall take effect upon the
date of its publication.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 8th day o~eptember, 1964.

1964, and was at said meeting regularly passed and adopted by the
