CODE BY ADDING SECTIONS 9230.150 THROUGH 9230.156,
INCLUSIVE, TO PROVIDE FOR AN LP (LIMITED PROFESSIONAL
DISTRICT) ZONING
WHEREAS, ti%e Planning Commission, after public hearing on
notice, has recol~uended the addition to the Master Plan herein-
below set out, and the City Council, after public hearing, has
determined this recommendation should be carried out.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the Land Use Regulations of Article IX,
Chapter 2, be amended by adding to Part 3 thereof Sections 9230.150
through 9230.156, both inclusive, to provide for a Limited
Professional Zoning District, to read in words and figures as
follows:
Section 9230.150. L P (Limited Professional District).
Section 9230.151. ~ses Permitted.
(a) The following professional uses:
(1) Accountant.
(2) Attorney.
(3) Doctor, dentist, optometrist, chiropractor, and
others practicing the healing arts for human
beings.
(4)Engineer, architect, and planner.
(5)Insurance broker and real estate agent.
(6)Professional photographer not engaged in the
sale of photographic equipment and supplies.
(7) Business offices where no merchandise is sold
and which are not more obnoxious or detrimental
to the welfare of the conm~unity than the uses
herein enumerated.
Hospitals and clinics, bu~ excluding mental
hospitals.
(b) '~he following signs:
(1) Nameplates with defined background not exceeding
one (1) foot by three (3) feet and with letters
or other syE~ols not exceeding four (4) square
inches each signifying the Rame of the occupant
and his specialty.
(2) One (1) double face si~n not to exceed twelve (12)
square feet per side, or two (2) single face signs
not to exceed twelve (12) square feet per side,
pertaining to clubs, lodges, and similar permitted
uses, or for the sale or lease of the pr~uises.
(3) One (1) single face sign per building site, not
exceeding twenty (20) square feet in area, for any
use permitted under Paragraph (a) of this Section
pertaining to the business conducted on the premises.
(c) Parking of motor vehicles in connection with any professional
use for ~ private parking except that no cars, either new or used,
shall be stored for sale or offered for sale or parked when such cars
bear signs, words, or figures indicating that the same may be for
sale, and no hydrocarbon substance or other property of any kind may
be sold in said District and no automobile serviced or repaired in
said District.

Section 9230.152. Buildinq Heiqht.
No structure shall exceed thirty-five (35) feet in height.
Section 9230.153. Front Yard.
There shall be a front yard of not less than fifteen (15) feet.
All required front yards shall be landscaped and maintained.
Section 9230.154. Side Yard.
There shall be a side yard of not less than three (3) feet.
On corner lots the side yard on the street side shall be not less
than ten (10) feet.
Section 9230.155. Rear Yard.
'There shall be a rear yard of not less than ten (10) feet.
Section 9230.156. Off-Street Parkinq.
Off-street parking shall be provided in the manner prescribed
in Part 4 of this Chapter.
SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
from and after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 4th day of January, 1965.

Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on the 21st day of December, 1964, and was again con-
sidered by said Council at its regular meeting held on the 4th day
of January, 1965, and was at said meeting regularly passed and
adopted by the following vote, to wit:
