THE BOUNDARY LINES OF THE WARDS OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That a certification of the Clerk of the Council
showing that a population estimate made by an agency of the State of
California authorized thereto to make such estimate shows the
population of the City of Santa Aha to exceed 120,000 persons, and
Section 101.3 of the Charter of the City of Santa Ana, as amended,
now requires that the Council divide the City into seven (7) wards;
therefore, after complying with the provisions of Charter Section
101.4 and to satisfy the requirements of Charter Section 101.2, after
public hearing held thereon, the boundary lines of the wards of said
City are hereby changed to and are established as hereinbelow set
out:
WARD NO. 1:
The boundary of Ward No. 1 begins at the intersection of the
easterly line of North Main Street with the boundary line of said
City north of Owens Drive and runs thence easterly and continues
along the City boundary around the northeasterly part of Santa
Aha to the intersection of Lyons Street with McFadden Avenue;
thence westerly along McFadden Avenue to the Southern Pacific
Railroad right of way; thence northerly along the Southern Pacific
Railroad right of way to its intersection with Chestnut Avenue;
thence westerly along Chestnut Avenue to Evergreen Street; thence
northerly along Evergreen Street to First Street; thence westerly
along First Street to Main Street; thence northerly along Main
Street to the point of beginning.
WARD NO. 2:
The boundary line of Ward No. 2 begins at the intersection of
Main Street and Edinger Avenue and runs thence westerly along
Edinger Avenue to Rene Drive; thence northerly along Rene Drive
to Wilshire Avenue; thence westerly along Wilshire Avenue to
Raitt Street; thence northerly along Raitt Street to McFadden
Avenue; thence westerly and northwesterly along McFadden Avenue
to the easterly right of way line of the Santa Ana River Channel;
thence northeasterly along the easterly right of way line of the
Santa Ana River Channel to a point 100 feet north of the westerly
extension of the north boundary of Camile Street; thence easterly
along a line 100 feet north of the northerly boundary of Camile
Street to Sullivan Street; thence southerly along Sullivan Street
to Willits Street; thence easterly along Willits Street to a point
100 feet west of Shelley Street; thence north along a line 100
feet west of Shelley Street to Myrtle Street; thence easterly along
Myrtle Street to Franklin Street; thence southerly along Franklin
Street and Raitt Street to Willits Street; thence easterly along
Willits Street to Bristol Street; thence southerly along Bristol
Street to Richland Street; thence easterly along Richland Street
to Baker Street; thence northerly along Baker Street to Chestnut
Avenue; thence easterly along Chestnut Avenue to Shelton Street;
thence southerly along Shelton Street to Myrtle Street; thence
easterly along Myrtle Street to Patton Street; thence southerly
along Parton Street to Camile Street; thence easterly along

beginning.
WARD NO, 3:
The boundary of Ward No. 3 begins at the intersection of
Washington Avenue with Main Street and runs thence westerly
along Washington Avenue to Bristol Street; thence north along
Bristol Street to Seventeenth Street; thence westerly along
Seventeenth Street to the southeast line of the Santa Ana River
Channel; thence southwesterly along the southeast line of the
Santa Aha River Channel to the Pacific Electric Railroad right
of way; thence northwesterly along the northerly boundary of the
Pacific Electric Railroad right of way to the southerly extension
of the west line of West Lane; thence northerly and continuing
along the northerly City boundary to its intersection with Main
Street; thence southerly along Main Street to the point of
beginning.
WARD NO. 4:
The boundary of Ward No. 4 begins at the intersection of the
easterly boundary of the Santa Ana River Channel with McFadden
Avenue and continues along McFadden Avenue to its intersection
with Raitt Street; thence southerly along Raitt Street to its
intersection with Wilshire Avenue; thence easterly along Wilshire
Avenue to its intersection with Rene Drive; thence southerly along
Rene Drive to Edinger Avenue; thence easterly along Edinger Avenue
to Town~z Street; thence southerly along Towne~ Street to Berkeley
Street; thence easterly along Berkeley Street to Flower Street;
thence southerly along Flower Street to St. Andrew Place; thence
easterly along St Andrew Place to Woodland Place; thence southerly
along Woodland Place to St. Gertrude Place; thence westerly along
St. Gertrude Place to Flower Street; thence southerly along Flower
Street to Warner Avenue; thence westerly along Warner Avenue to
Towner Street; thence southerly along Towner Street to Hemlock

The boundary of Ward No. 5 begins at the intersection of the
easterly right of way line of the Santa Ana River Channel with
First Street and runs thence easterly along First Street to Raitt
Street; thence northerly along Raitt Street to Eighth Street;
thence westerly along Eighth Street to English Street; thence
northerly along English Street to Seventeenth Street; thence
easterly along Seventeenth Street to Bristol Street; thence
southerly along Bristol Street to Washington Avenue; thence
easterly along Washington Avenue to Main Street; thence southerly
along Main Street to Highland Avenue; thence westerly along
Highland Avenue to Birch Street; thence northerly along Birch
Street to Camile Street; thence along Cemile Street to Parton
Street; thence northerly along Parton Street to Myrtle Street;
thence westerly along Myrtle Street to Shelton Street; thence
northerly along Shelton Street to Chestnut Avenue; thence westerly

The boundary line of Ward No. 6 begins at the intersection of
Sunflower Avenue with Bristol Street and runs thence northerly
along Bristol Street to San Lorenzo Avenue; thence easterly and
northeasterly along San Lorenzo Avenue to Shelton Street; thence
northerly along Shelton Street to Hemlock Way; thence easterly
along Hemlock Way to Towner Street; thence northerly along Towner
Street to Warner Avenue; thence easterly along Warner Avenue to
Flower Street; thence northerly along Flower Street to St. Gertrude
Place; thence easterly along St. Gertrude Place to Woodland Place;
thence northerly along Woodland Place to St. Andrew Place; thence
wes~erly along St. Andrew Place to Flower Street; thence northerly
along Flower Street to Berkeley Street; thence westerly along
Berkeley Street to Towner Street; thence northerly along Towner

WARD NO. 7:
The boundary of Ward No. 7 begins at a point on the northerly
boundary of the Pacific Electric Railroad right of way which is
on the southerly extension of the westerly line of West Lane and
proceeding thence southeasterly along said northerly line to its
intersection with the southeasterly boundary of the Santa Aha
River Channel; thence northeasterly along the southeasterly
boundary of the Santa Aha River Channel to Seventeenth Street;
thence easterly along Seventeenth Street to English Street; thence
southerly along English Street to Eighth Street; thence easterly
along Eighth Street to Raitt Street; thence southerly along Raitt
Street to First Street; thence westerly along First Street to its
intersection with the easterly boundary of the Santa Aha River
Channel; thence continuing northerly and along the City boundary
around the westerly portion of Santa Ana to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2: This is an ordinance necessary to the General
Municipal Election to be held April 6, 1965; the sole purpose of
this Ordinance is to change the Ward lines and to establish Wards for
the holding of said Election; therefore, this Ordinance shall take
effect upon the date of its publication.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 4th day of January~ 1965.

the Council of the City of Santa Ana, California; that the foregoing
Ordinance was regularly introduced at a regular meeting of the City
Council held on the 21st day of December, 1964, and was again con-
sidered by said Council at its regular meeting held on the 4th day
of January, 1965, and was at said meeting regularly passed and adopted
by the following vote, to wit:
