CODE BY REPEALING SECTIONS 4247. AND 4248. AND
ADDING SECTIONS 4247., 4247.1., AND 4247.2.
REGULATING THE USE AND POSSESSION OF MODEL GLUE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That Section 4247. of the Santa Ana Municipal
Code regulating operation of punch boards and Section 4248. regu-
lating cigars and cigarettes are hereby repealed.
SECTION 2: That new sections to be numbered 4247., 4247.1.,
and 4247.2. are hereby added to Part 4, Chapter 2, Article IV of the
Santa Ana Municipal Code to read in words and figures as follows:
Section 4247. Definition.
MODEL GLUE as used in this Part shall mean any glue or cement
of the type c~unonly used in the building of model airplanes,
boats, and automobiles, containing toluene, acetone, or other
solvent or chemical having the property of releasing toxic vapors.
Section 4247.1. Inhalation_of Fumes Prohibited.
NO person shall, for the purpose of causing a condition of
intoxication, euphoria, excitement, exhilaration, stupefaction,
or dulling of the senses or nervous system, intentionally smell
or inhale the fumes from any model glue or any other intoxicating,
stupefying, exhilarating or anesthetic drug, chemical, or
substance; provided, however, that this Section shall not apply
to the inhalation of any anesthesia for medical or dental purposes.
Section 4247.2. Certain Possession Prohibited.
No person shall, for the purpose of violating or aiding another
to violate any provision of this Part, intentionally possess,
transfer possession, or receive possession of any model glue or
other intoxicating, stupefying, exhilarating, or anesthetic drug,
chemical, or substance.
SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty
days from and after the date of its adoption.
