ON AMENDMENT APPLICATION 645 INITIATED BY THE
PLANNING COMMISSION, AND AMENDING SECTIONAL
DISTRICT MAP 12-5-10 (EXHIBIT AA 645-A)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice of and
duly held a public hearing on Amendment Application No. 645,
initiated by the Planning Commission for a change in District
classification from the R 2 and R 3 Districts north of Washington
Avenue to the R 3H District, and from the R 2, R 3, R 3H and R 3HB
Districts south of Washington Avenue to the P District, and said
Commission has recommended, by its Resolution No. 5885, that said
reclassification be approved as shown on Exhibit A.A. 645-A; and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing
on notice and does now find that public necessity, convenience,
and general welfare require the following amendment and that the
use under the new classification will not be detrimental to the
surrounding property;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
PARCEL 1: Beginning at that point where the center line
of Washington Avenue intersects the center line of Flower
Street; thence northerly along the center line of Flower
Street for a distance of 1165.2 feet, more or less, to
the center line of an alley; thence easterly along the
center line of said alley for a distance of 1231.6 feet,
more or less, to the center line of Ross Street; thence
southerly along the center line of Ross Street for a
distance of 150 feet, more or less, to the center line of
Sixteenth Street; thence easterly along the center line
of Sixteenth Street for a distance of 429.5 feet, more or
less, to the center line of Durant Street; thence southerly
along the center line of Durant Street for a distance of
1155.1 feet, more or less, to the center line of Washington
Avenue; thence westerly along the center line of Washington
Avenue for a distance of 1082.8 feet, more or less, to the
center line of Parton Street; thence northerly along the
center line of Parton Street for a distance of 766.8 feet,
more or less, to the center line of Fifteenth Street;
thence westerly along the center line of Fifteenth Street
for a distance of 410.1 feet; thence southerly along a
line approximately parallel to the center line of Flower
Street for a distance of 616.8 feet, more or less; thence
westerly for a distance of 14 feet, more or less; thence
southerly for a distance of 150 feet, more or less, to the
center line of Washington Avenue; thence westerly along
the center line of Washington Avenue for a distance of
130 feet, more or less, to the center line of Flower Street
and the Point of Beginning,
is hereby reclassified from the R-2 and R-3 Districts to the R-3H
District, and Sectional District Map 12-5-10 is hereby amended to
show said reclassification in accordance with Exhibit A.A. 645 A.
PARCEL 2: Beginning at that point where the center line
of Washington Avenue intersects the center line of Flower
Street; thence easterly along the center line of Washington
Avenue for a distance of 1851.8 feet, more or less, to a

point located 207.0 feet westerly from that point where
the center line of Washington Avenue intersects the
center line of Broadway; thence southerly along a line
approximately parallel to the center line of Broadway
for a distance of 490 feet, more or less, to the center
line of Halesworth Street; thence easterly along the
center line of Halesworth Street for a distance of
16 feet, mo~e or less, to the center line of an alley;
thence southerly along the center line of said alley
for a distance of 307.5 feet, more Or less; thence east-
erly for a distance of 38.5 feet, more or less; thence
southerly for a distance of 75 feet, more or less, to
the center line of Tenth Street; thence westerly along
the center line of Tenth Street for a distance of 268
feet, more or less; thence southerly along a line
approximately parallel to the center line of Birth Street
for a distance of 383.7 feet, more or less; thence west-
erly along a line approximately parallel to the center
line of Civic Center Drive West for a distance of 268 feet,
more or less, to the center line of an alley; thence south-
erly along the center line of said alley for a distance of
65.7 feet, more or less; thence westerly for a distance of
154.5 feet, more or less, to the center line of Ross Street;
thence southerly along the center line of Ross Street for
a distance of 18.5 feet, more or less; thence westerly
along a' line approximately parallel to the center line of
civic Center Drive West for a distance of 165 feet, more or
les~ to the center line of an alley; thence northerly for
a distance of 8 feet, more or less; thence westerly for a
distance of 160 feet, more or less, to the center line of
Van Ness Avenue; thence southerly for a distance of 2 feet,
more or less, to the center line of an alley; thence west-
erly along the center line of said alley for a distance of
330 feet, more or less, to the center line of Parton Street;
thence southerly for a distance of 5.6 feet, more or less;
thence continuing along the center line of said alley for
a distance of 314.7 feet, more or less, to the center line
of Garnsey Street; thence northerly along the center line
of Garnsey Street for a distance of 23.2 feet, more or less;
thence westerly for a distance of 135 feet, more or less;
thence northerly for a distance of 15 feet, more or less;
thence westerly for a distance of 103.5 feet, more or less,
to the center line of Flower Street; thence northerly along
the center line of Flower Street for a distance of 1315.8
feet, more or less, to its intersection with the center
line of Washington Avenue and the point of beginning,
is hereby reclassified from the R-2, R-3, R-3H and R-3HB Districts
to the P District, and Sectional District Map 12-5-10 is hereby
amended to show said reclassification in accordance with Exhibit
A.A. 645 A.
PARCEL 3: Beginning at that point where the center line
of Washington Avenue intersects the center line of Sycamore
Street; thence southerly along the center line of Sycamore
Street for a distance of 815 feet, more or less~ to the
center line of Tenth Street; thence westerly along the
center line of Tenth Street for a distance of 154 feet,
more or less; thence northerly, along a line approximately
parallel to the center line of Broadway for a distance
of 815 feet, more or less, to the center line of Washington
Avenue; thence easterly along the center line of Washington
Avenue for a distance of 150 feet, more or less, to the point
of beginning,
is hereby reclassified from the R-3HB District to the P District
and Sectional District Map 12-5-10 is hereby amended to show said
reclassification in accordance with Exhibit A.A. 645 A.

SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect 30 days
from and after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of July, 1969.
