BOUNDARY LINES OF THE WARDS OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, heretofore, on November 16, 1970, the City Council,
by its Resolution 70-109, declared its intention to change the
boundary lines of the Wards in the City of Santa Ana, which said
Resolution was regularly published as required by Section 101.4
of the Charter of the City of Santa Ana and gave notice of public
hearing to be held on December 21, 1970;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the boundaries of the wards of the City of
Santa Aha are hereby changed and established as hereinafter set out:
WARD NO. 1:
The boundary of WARD NO. 1 begins at that point where Flower
Street intersects the North City Limits; thence generally
Easterly along the Northerly City Limits to the Easterly
City Limits; thence Southerly along the Easterly City
Limits to F~rst Street; thence Southerly and Easterly along
said City Limits to the next angle point in said City
Limits; thence Westerly along said City Limits to a line
that is parallel with and 500 feet Westerly of Tustin Avenue
as it exists North of First Street; thence Northerly at
right angles to the last mentioned City Limit line to First
Street; thence Westerly along First Street to Main Street;
thence Northerly along Main Street to Santa Ana Boulevard;
thence Easterly along Santa Aha Boulevard to French Street;
thence North along French Street to Stafford Street; thence
Northeasterly along Stafford Street to the Southern
Pacific Railroad right of way, which lies between Santiago
Street and Poinsettia Street; thence Northwesterly along
the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way to Washington
Avenue; thence Easterly along Washington Avenue to Lincoln
Avenue; thence Northerly along Lincoln Avenue to the
Santa Ana Freeway; thence Northwesterly along the Santa
Ana Freeway to Flower Street; thence Northerly along Flower
Street to the point of beginning.
WARD NO. 2:
The boundary of WARD NO. 2 begins at the intersection of
Main Street and Edinger Avenue and runs Westerly along
Edinger Avenue to Flower Street; thence Southerly Along
Flower Street to St. Andrew Place; thence Westerly on
St. Andrew Place to Towner Street; thence Southerly on
Towner Street to Carlton Place; thence Westerly on Carlton
Place to Baker Street; thence Northerly on Baker Street to
St. Andrew Place; thence Westerly on St. Andrew Place to
Bristol Street; thence Northerly on Bristol Street to
Edinger Avenue; thence Westerly on Edinger Avenue to Raitt
Street; thence Northerly on Raitt Street to Wilshire Avenue;
thence Westerly on Wilshire Avenue to Townsend Street,
thence Northerly on Townsend Street to Lingan Lane; thence
Westerly on Lingan Lane to Center Street; thence Northerly
on Center Street to McFadden Avenue; thence Westerly on
McFadden Avenue to the Santa Ana River; thence Northerly
along the Santa Ana River to First Street; thence Easterly
along First Street to Sullivan Street; thence Southerly
along Sullivan Street to Willits Street; thence Easterly
along Willits Street to Townsend Street; thence Northerly
along Townsend Street to Myrtle Street; thence Easterly
along Myrtle Street to Pacific Avenue; thence Northerly
along Pacific Avenue to Pine Street; thence Easterly along
Pine Street to Bristol Street; thence Southerly along Bristol
Street to Cubbon Street; thence Easterly along Cubbon Street
to Flower Street; thence Northerly along Flower Street to
BishQp Street; thence Easterly along Bishop Street to Main
Street; thence Southerly along Main Street to Edinger Avenue
and to the point of beginning.
WARD NO. 3:
The boundary of WARD NO. 3 begins at the intersection of
Washington Avenue with Main Street and runs thence Westerly
along Washington Avenue to Broadway; thence Northerly
along Broadway to Washington Avenue as it exists West of
Broadway; thence Westerly along Washington Avenue to Bristol
Street; thence Northerly along Bristol Street to Seventeenth
Street; thence Westerly along Seventeenth Street to the
City Limit line as it exists just West of Nancy Lane;
thence generally Northerly and Easterly along the City
Limit line to its intersection with Flower Street; thence
Southerly along Flower Street to the Southern Pacific
Railroad adjacent to the Santa Ana Freeway; thence South-
easterly along said Southern Pacific Railroad right of way
to Main Street; thence Southerly on Main Street to the point
of beginning.
WARD NO. 4:
The boundary of WARD NO. 4 begins at the intersection of the
Santa Ana River with McFadden Avenue and runs thence easterly
along McFadden Avenue to Center Street; thence Southerly
along Center Street to Lingan Lane; thence easterly along
Lingan Lane to Townsend Street; thence Southerly along
Townsend Street to Wilshire Avenue; thence Easterly along
Wilshire Avenue to Raitt Street; thence Southerly on Raitt
Street to Edinger Avenue; thence Easterly on Edinger Avenue
to Bristol Street; thence Southerly on Bristol Street to
Warner Avenue; thence Westerly along Warner Avenue to Main
Street; thence South on Main Street to the South City Limits;
thence generally Westerly and Northerly along the South and
West City Limits to the Santa Ana River; thence Northerly
along said Santa Ana River to the point of beginning.
WARD NO. 5:
The boundary of WARD NO. 5 begins at the intersection of
Main Street and Bishop Street and runs Westerly along Bishop
Street to Flower Street; thence Southerly along Flower Street
to Cubbon Street; thence Westerly along Cubbon Street to
Bristol Street; thence Northerly along Bristol Street to
Pine Street; thence Westerly along Pine Street to Pacific
Avenue; thence Southerly along Pacific Avenue to Myrtle
Street; thence Westerly along Myrtle Street to Daisy Avenue;
thence Northerly along Daisy Avenue to First Street; thence
westerly along First Street to Townsend Street; thence
northerly along Townsend Street to the Pacific Electric
Railroad right of way; thence Northwesterly along the

Freeway; thence Southeasterly along the Santa Ana Freeway

Avenue to the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way, which
lies between Santiago Street and Poinsettia Street; thence
Southeasterly along the Southern Pacific Railroad right of
way to Stafford Street; thence Southwesterly along Stafford
Street to French Street; thence Southerly along French
Street to Santa Ana Boulevard; thence Westerly along Santa
Ana Boulevard to Main Street; thence Southerly on Main
Street to Bishop Street and to the point of beginning.
WARD NO. 6:
The boundary of WARD NO. 6 begins at the intersection of
Sunflower Avenue with Main Street and runs thence Northerly
along Main Street to Warner Avenue; thence Westerly along
Warner Avenue to Bristol Street; thence Northerly along
Bristol Street to St. Andrew Place; thence Easterly along
St. Andrew Place to Baker Street; thence Southerly along
Baker Street to Carlton Place; thence Easterly along Carlton
Place to Towner Street; thence Northerly along Towner Street
to St. Andrew Place; thence Easterly along St. Andrew Place
to Flower Street; thence Northerly along Flower Street to
Edinger Avenue; thence Easterly along Edinger Avenue to Main
Street; thence Northerly along Main Street to First Street;
thence Easterly along First Street to a point 500 feet
west of Tustin Avenue as it exists North of First Street;
thence Southerly 610 feet to the City Limits; thence generally
Southerly and Westerly along the Easterly and Southerly City
Limits to the point of beginning.

The boundary of WARD NO. 7 begins at the intersection of First
Street and Daisy Avenue; thence Southerly along Daisy Avenue
to Myrtle Street; thence Westerly along Myrtle Street to
Townsend Street; thence Southerly along Townsend Street to
Willits Street; thence Westerly along Willits Street to
Sullivan Street; thence Northerly along Sullivan Street to
First Street; thence Westerly along First Street to the Santa
Ana River; thence Southwesterly along the Santa Ana River

to the City Limit line as it crosses the Santa Ana River
North of Edinger Avenue; thence generally Westerly, Northerly,
and Easterly along the City Limits to an angle point in the
City Limits, said angle point being on the Pacific Electric
Railroad right of way as it exists West of West Marles Lane;
thence Southeasterly along the Pacific Electric Railroad
right of way to the Santa Ana River; thence Northeasterly
along the Santa Ana River to Fairview Street; thence
Southerly along Fairview Street to its intersection with
King Street extended Southerly; thence Northerly along King
Street to Twelfth Street; thence Easterly along Twelfth Street
to English Street; thence Northerly along English Street
to Washington Avenue; thence Easterly along Washington
Avenue to Raitt Street; thence Southerly along Raitt Street
to Civic Center Drive West; thence Westerly along Civic
Center Drive West to Hawley Street; thence Southerly along
Hawley Street to Fifth Street; thence Westerly along Fifth
Street to the Pacific Electric Railroad right of way;
thence Southeasterly along the Pacific Electric Railroad
right of way to Townsend Street; thence Southerly along
Townsend Street to First Street; thence Easterly along First
Street to Daisy Street and to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2: That this is an ordinance necessary to the
General Municipal Election to he held April 6, 1971; the sole
purpose of this Ordinance is to change the Ward lines and to
establish Wards for the holding of said Election; therefore,
this Ordinance shall take effect upon the date of its publication.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the ~th day of
