ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SANTA ANA
CHANGING ZONING CLASSIFICATION ON AMENDMENT
APPLICATION 689, FILED BY MARVIN M. AND RUSSELL
F. ROHRS AND AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAP
5-5-9 (EXHIBIT A.A. 689-B.)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice
of and duly held a public hearing on Amendment Application
689, filed by Marvin M. and Russell F. Rohrs proposing to
prezone from 60-A1-7200 (County) District to R 2 (City)
District the property hereinbelow described; and said Com-
mission, by its Resolution 5973, has recommended approval
of said reclassification in accordance with Exhibit A.A.
689-A; and
WHEREAS, the hereinbelow described real property was
annexed to and made a part of the City of Santa Ana on
January 14, 1972; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with ~41-189 of the Santa Ana
Municipal Code it was automatically classified as A 1 Dis-
trict; and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public
hearing on said reclassification on published notice as
required by law, and does now find that the public neces-
sity, convenience and general welfare require that said
property be rezoned from the A 1 District to the R 1 Dis-
trict, and that the new classification will not be detri-
mental to the surrounding property;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of
Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described
as:
Parcel 1.
Beginning at the intersections of the center
lines of Old Grand Street and Santa Clara
Avenue, thence easterly along the centerline
of Santa Clara Avenue, also being the boundary
of the City of Santa Ana, for a distance of
745.45 feet more or less to the True Point of
Beginning. Thence continuing north along said
City boundary for a distance of 185 feet more
or less; thence easterly along said City boun-
dary for a distance of 105 feet more or less;
thence continuing south along said City boundary
and its southerly prolongation for a distance of
185 feet more or less to the centerline of Santa
Clara Avenue; thence westerly along the center-
line of Santa Clara Avenue for a distance of
105 feet more or less to the True Point of Be-
ginning.
Parcel 2.
Beginning at a point on the boundary of the
City of Santa Ana 185 feet more or less north
of the Ture Point of Beginning of Parcel 1;
thence continuing easterly along said City
boundary for a distance of 105 feet more or
less; thence south along said City boundary
and its southerly prolongation for a distance
of 185 feet more or less to the centerline of
Santa Clara Avenue; thence easterly along said
centerline for a distance of 874.3 feet more
or less to a point on the boundary of the City
of Santa Ana; thence continuing north along said
City boundary for a distance of 846.8 feet more
or less; thence westerly along a line approxi-
mately parallel to the centerline of Santa Clara
Avenue for a distance of 979.3 feet more or less;
thence southerly along a line approximately pa-
rallel to the last said City boundary for a
distance of 661.8 feet more or less to the point
of beginning.
is hereby rezoned from the A 1 District to the R 1 District
and Sectional District Map 5-5-9, as revised, is hereby
amended to show said reclassification in accordance with
Exhibit A.A. 689-B.
SECTION 2: That the Clerk of the Council shall certify
to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be
published in some daily newspaper printed and published in
the City of Santa Ana.
SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty
days from and after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 1st day of
