ORDINANCE OF TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA APPROVING AMENDMENT APPLICA-
TION ~712 FILED BY T~E SANTA ANA PLANNING
COMMISSION TO REZONE PROPERTY SITUATED NORTH
OF SEGERSTROM AVENUE BETWEEN RAITT STREET
AND THE ORANGE COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL C~AIqI~EL,
FROM THE A 1 DISTRICT TO THE R 1 DISTRICT
AND AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAP 26-5-10
(EX}{IBIT A.A. 712-A)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice of
and duly held a public hearing on Amendment Application ~712,
filed by the Santa Ana Planning Commission proposing to re-
zone the property situated north of Segerstrom Avenue between
Raitt Street and the Orange County Flood Control Channel, from
the A 1 District to the R 1 District and amending Sectional Dis-
trict Map 26-5-10 in accordance with Exhibit A.A. 712-A; and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing
on said reclassification on published notice as required by law,
and does now find that the public necessity, convenience, and
general welfare require that said property be rezoned from the
A 1 District to the R 1 District, and that the new classifica-
tion will not be detrimental to the surrounding property;
NOW, THEREFORE, TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of Santa
Aha, County of Orange, State of California, described as:
Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of Adams St.
and Linda Way; thence south along the center line of Linda Way
for a distance of 131.75 feet to the True Point of Beginning:
thence north 88' 45' 18" east for a distance of 505.13 feet to
the west right of way line of the Orange County Flood Control
District channel; thence south 1° 03' 20" east along said chan-
nel line for a distance of 910 feet; thence south 88° 45' 18"
west for a distance of 101 feet; thence south 32° 18' 45" west
for a distance of 30 feet to the center line of a proposed "D"
Street as shown on the Tentative Map Tract 7655; thence continu-
ing westerly along said center line for a distance of 411.8 feet
to the center line of Linda Way; thence north along the center
line of Linda Way for a distance of 130 feet; thence south 88°
45' 18" west for a distance of 130 feet; thence north 1° 03' 20"
west for a distance of 780 feet; thence north 88° 45' 18" east
for a distance of 149.4 feet to the True Point of Beginning
is hereby reclassified from the A 1 District to the R 1 District,
and Sectional District Map 26-5-10, as revised, is hereby amended
to show said reclassification in accordance with Exhibit A.A.
712-A.

SECTION 2: That the Clerk of the Council shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published in
some daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Santa Ana.
SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
from and after the date of its adoption, except as herein specifi-
cally provided.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 21st
August , 1972.
