AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING AMENDMENT
APPLICATION 4717 PILED BY SANTA ANA PLAN-
NING COMMISSION TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED
BETWEEN HARBOR BLVD. AND WEST STREET; WEST-
MINSTER AND HAZARD AVENUES FROM R 2 TO C 2
AND R 2B AND AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT
MAP 9-5-10 (EXHIBIT A.A. 717-A.)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice of
and duly held a public hearing on Amendment Application
4717, filed by the Santa Ana Planning Commission proposing
to rezone the property situated between Harbor Blvd. and
West Street; Westminster and Hazard Avenues from the R 2
District to the C 2 and R 2B Districts, and amending Sec-
tional District Map 9-5-10 (Exhibit A.A. 717-A); and
WHEREAS, The City Council regularly held a public hearing
on said reclassification on published notice as required by law,
and does now find that the public necessity, convenience, and
general welfare require that said property be rezoned from the
R 2 District to the C 2 and R 2B District, and that the new
classification will not be detrimental to the surrounding pro-
perty;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of Santa
Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as:
PARCEL 1
Beginning at that point where the center line of
Hazard Avenue intersects the center line of Harbor
Blvd.; thence westerly along said center line of
Hazard Avenue for a distance of 659 feet, more or
less; thence northerly along a line approximately
parallel to the center line of Harbor Blvd. for a
distance of 660.4 feet, more or less; thence east-
erly along a line approximately parallel to the
the center line of Hazard Avenue for a distance
of 231.5 feet, more or less, to the True Point of
Beginning; thence northerly along a line approx-
imately parallel to the center line of Harbor
Blvd. for a distance of 48 feet; thence westerly
along a line approximately parallel to the center
line of Hazard Avenue for a distance of 183.5 feet,
more or less; thence northerly along a line approx-
imately parallel to the center line of Harbor Blvd.
for a distance of 1,155.3 feet, more or less; thence
westerly along a line approximately parallel to the
center line of Seventeenth Street for a distance of
699.8 feet, more or less, to the east line of that
certain parcel of land owned by the Orange County
Flood Control District; thence northerly along said
east line for a distance of 232 feet, more or less,
to a point 550 feet, more or less, southerly of the
center line of Seventeenth Street; thence easterly
along a line approximately parallel to the center
line of Seventeenth Street for a distance of 950.8

feet, more or less; thence Southerly along a
line approximately parallel to the center line
of Harbor Blvd. for a distance of 1,477.9 feet,
more or less; thence westerly along a line ap-
proximately parallel to the center line of
Hazard Avenue for a distance of 78.5 feet,
more or less, to the True Point of Beginning.
PARCEL 2 - R 2B District
Beginning at the True Point of Beginning as
shown on Parcel 1, thence westerly along a
line approximately parallel to the center
line of Hazard Avenue for a distance of 231.5
feet, more or less; thence northerly along a
line approximately parallel to the center line
of Harbor Blvd. for a distance of 1,155.3 feet,
more or less; thence westerly along a line ap-
proximately parallel to the center line of
Seventeenth Street for a distance of 651.8
feet, more or less, to the east line of that
certain parcel of land owned by the Orange
County Flood Control District; thence northerly
along said east line for a distance of 48 feet
to a point on said east line southerly of the
center line of Seventeenth Street 782 feet,
more or less; thence leaving said east line east-
erly along a line approximately parallel to the
center line of Seventeenth Street for a distance
of 699.8 feet, more or less; thence southerly
along a line approximately parallel to the center
line of Harbor Blvd. for a distance of 1,155.3 feet,
more or less; thence easterly along a line approx-
imately parallel to the center line of Hazard Ave.
for a distance of 183.5 feet, more or less; thence
southerly along a line approximately parallel to
the center line of Harbor Blvd. for a distance of
48 feet to the True Point of Beginning.
is hereby rezoned from the R 2 to the C 2 and R 2B Districts,
and Sectional District Map 9-5-10 is hereby amended to show
said reclassification in accordance with Exhibit A.A. 717-A.
SECTION 2: That the Clerk of the Council shall certify
to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be
published in some daily newspaper printed and published in
the City of Santa Ana.
SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty
days from and after the date of its adoption.
