ORDINANCE NS-1181
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA APPROVING AMENDMENT APPLICATION
#721 FILED BY THE FIRST WESTERN BANK AND TRUST
COMPANY TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED BETWEEN
SANTA CLARA AND CATALINA AVENUES, FROM THE A 1
DISTRICT TO THE C 5, R 2-PRD and R 1-PRD Districts,
AND AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAP 4-5-9
(EXHIBIT A.A. 721-B)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice of and
duly held a public hearing on Amendment Application #721,
filed by the First Western Bank and Trust Company proposing
to rezone the property situated between Santa Clara and Cata-
lina Avenue from the A 1 District to the C 5, R 2-PRD and
R 1-PRD Districts, and amending Sectional District Map 4-5-9
(Exhibit A.A. 721-B); and said Commission by its Resolution
6039 has recommended approval rezoning from the A 1 District
to the C 5, R 2-PRD and R 1-PRD Districts in the City of Santa
Ana in accordance with Exhibit A.. A. 721-B, and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing
on said reclassification on published notice as required by
law, and does now find that the public necessity, convenience,
and general welfare require that said property be rezoned from
the A 1 District to the C 5, R 2-PRD and R 1-PRD Districts,
and that the new classification will not be detrimental to the
surrounding property;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of Santa
Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as:
PARCEL I - C 5
Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of
Tustin Avenue and Santa Clara Avenue; thence east along
the centerline of Santa Clara Avenue for a distance of
246 feet; thence south along a line parallel to the center-
line of Tustin Avenue for a distance of 660.7 feet to a
point on the south line of the west one-half of the north
one-half of Lot 12 in Block 'B' of the. A.~. Chapman Tract
in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of
California, as shown on a map recorded in Book 102, Page
15 of Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County Re-
corder of said Orange County; thence west along said south
line 246 feet to the centerline of Tustin Avenue; thence
north along the centertine of Tustin Avenue 660.9 feet to
the point of beginning.
PARCEL II - R 2-PRD
Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of Tustin
Avenue and Santa Clara Avenue; thence east along the center-
line of Santa Clara Avenue for a distance of 246 feet to
the True Point of Beginning: thence continuing east along
last said centerline for a distance of 364.62 feet; thence
south 0°21'42" east for a distance of 660.4 feet; thence
south 89°44'26" west 366.3 feet to the southeast corner
of Parcel I; thence north along the east line of Parcel
I for a distance of 660.7 feet to the True Point of
Beginning.

PARCEL III - R 1-PRD
Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of
Tustin Avenue and Santa Clara Avenue; thence east along
the centerline of Santa Clara Avenue for a distance of
610 feet to the True Point of Beginning; thence continuing
east along last said centerline for a distance of 20 feet;
thence south 0°21'42'' east for a distance of 660.4 feet;
thence south 89°44'26" west 20 feet to the southeast
corner of Parcel II; thence north along the east line of
Parcel II 660.4 feet to the centerline of Santa Clara
Avenue and the True Point of Beginning
is hereby rezoned from the A 1 District to the C 5, R 2-PRD
and R 1-PRD Districts, and Sectional District Map 4-5-9 is
hereby amended to show said reclassification in accordance with
Exhibit A.A. 721-B.
SECTION 2: That the Clerk of the Council shall certify
to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be
published in some daily newspaper printed and published in
the City of Santa Ana.
SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty
days from and after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the 20 day of
August , 1973.
