ORDINANCE NO. NS-1294
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
~iENDING ARTICLE I OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE
SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING
SECTION 2-1 AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO BIND THE CITY TO CHANGE ORDERS ON CITY
CONTRACTS WHERE THE CHANGE ORDER DOES NOT
CUMULATIVELY iEXCEED FIVE PERCENT .(5%) OF
THE CONTtLACT OBLIGATION OR TWO THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($2,000.00) WHICHEVER IS THE
LESSER.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That there is hereby added to Article I Chapter
2 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 2-1 to read as follows:
SEC. 2-1 City Manager's Authority to approve change orders.
The City Manager of the City of Santa Ana is hereby author-
ized to bind the City of Santa Ana on change orders to City contracts
for materials, supplies, or equipment, or for public works construc-
tion (as defined in Santa Aha City Charter Sec. 421) without previous
City Council approval when such change order for any one contract
together with any previously approved change orders for said contract
do not cumulatively amount to an increase of the city's expenditure
obligation under said contract of more than five percent (5%) , or
the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00), whichever is the
lesser.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 17th day of
February , 1976.

I, FLORENCE I. MALONE, do hereby certify that I am the Clerk
of the Council of the City of Santa Ana; that the foregoing Ordinance
was introduced to said Council at its regular meeting held on
the 2nd day of February , 1976 and was again considered
by said Council at its regular meeting held on the 17th day
of February , 1976, and was at said meeting passed and adopted
by the following vote, to wit:

NOES: COUNCILMEN: Yamamoto, Evans
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
