HomeMy WebLinkAboutNS-1333ORDINANCE NS-1333 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA CHANGING AND ESTABLISHING THE BOUNDARY LINES OF THE WARDS OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, heretofore, on October 26, 1976, the City Council by its Resolution 76-131, declared its intention to change the boundary lines of the Wards in the City of Santa Ana, which said Resolution was regularly published as required by Section 101.4 of the Charter of the City of Santa Ana and gave notice of public hearing to be held on November 15, 1976; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the boundaries of the Wards of the City of Santa Ana are hereby changed and established as hereinafter set out. WARD NO. 1: The boundary of Ward No. 1 begins at that point where Flower Street intersects the North City Limits; thence generally Easterly along the Northerly City Limits to the Easterly City Limits; thence Southerly along the Easterly City Limits to Chestnut Avenue; thence Westerly on Chestnut Avenue to Lyon Street; thence Southerly on Lyon Street to McFadden Avenue; thence Westerly on McFadden Avenue to Maple Street; thence Northerly on Maple Street to Bishop Street; thence Easterly on Bishop Street to Halladay Street; thence Northerly on Halladay Street to Pine Street; thence Easterly on Pine Street to Cedar Street; thence Northerly on Cedar Street to First Street; thence Easterly on First Street to Grand Avenue; thence Northerly on Grand Avenue to the Santa Ana Freeway; thence Northerly along the Santa Ana Freeway to the point of beginning. Ward No. 4: The boundary of Ward No. 4 begins at the intersection of Edinger Avenue and Bristol Street; thence Southerly on Bristol Street to Sunflower Avenue; thence Westerly and Northerly along the Santa Ana City Limits Line to Calendula Avenue; thence Northerly along the Santa Ana River to McFadden Avenue; thence Easterly on McFadden Avenue to Center Street; thence Southerly on Center Street to Lingan Lane; thence Easterly on Lingan Lane to Townsend Street; thence Southerly on Townsend Street to Wilshire Avenue; thence Easterly on Wilshire Avenue to Raitt Street; thence Southerly on Raitt Street to Edinger Avenue; thence Easterly on Edinger Avenue to Bristol Street and the point of beginning. Ward No. 5: The boundary of Ward No. 5 begins at the intersection of 17th Street and Bristol Street; thence Easterly on 17th Street to Baker Street; thence Southerly on Baker Street to Washington Avenue; thence Easterly on Washington Avenue to Flower Street; thence Southerly on Flower Street to Bishop Street; thence Easterly on Bishop Street to Parton Street; thence Southerly on Parton Street to Highland Street; thence Westerly on Highland Street to Bristol Street; thence Southerly on Bristol Street to McFadden Avenue; thence Westerly on McFadden Avenue to the Santa Ana River; thence Northerly along the Santa Ana River to Fifth Street; thence Easterly along Fifth Street to Raitt Street; thence Northerly on Raitt Street to Civic Center Drive West; thence Easterly on Civic Center Drive West to Bristol Street; thence Northerly on Bristol Street to 17th Street and the point of beginning. Ward No. 7: The boundary of Ward No. 7 begins at the intersection of the Santa Ana River and the Pacific Electric Railway Right-of-Way; thence Southerly along the Santa Ana River to the Santa Ana City Limits Line; thence Westerly and Northerly and then Easterly along the Santa Ana City Limits Line to Clinton Street; thence Southerly on Clinton Street to the Pacific Electric Railway Right-Of-Way; thence Southeasterly along the Pacific Electric Railway Right-Of-Way to the Santa Ana River and the point of beginning. SECTION 2: That the Clerk of the Council shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and cause the same to be published in some daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Santa Ana.
