ORDINANCE NO. NS-1457
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
APPROVING AMENDMENT APPLICATION
NO. 805 TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED
AT 222-224 NORTH NEWHOPE STREET,
FROM THE A1 (GENERAL AGRICULTURAL)
DISTRICT TO THE R2 (MULTIPLE FAMILY
RESIDENCE) DISTRICT AND AMENDING
SECTIONAL MAP NO. 9-5-10
WHEREAS, the real property located at 222-224
North Newhope Street and more particularly described infra,
is located within the A1 (General Agricultural) District, and
WHEREAS, Amendment Application No. 805 has been
filed to amend Sectional District Map No. 9-5-10 to rezone
such real property to the R2 (Multiple Family Residence)
District, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice
of and duly held a public hearing on said Amendment Applica-
tion and has recommended approval thereof, and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public
hearing on the said Amendment Application on published
notice required by law and does now find that the public
necessity, convenience, and general welfare require that the
said property to be reclassified as requested in the said
Amendment Application, and that the new classification will
not be detrimental to the surrounding property, and
WHEREAS, prior to taking this action the City
Council has reviewed and considered the information contained
in Negative Declaration, I.S. No. 78-178, and, on the basis
thereof, finds that the project will not have a significant
effect on the environment;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN that the real property situated in the
City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
generally located at 222-224 North Newhope Street, and more
particularly described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and
incorporated herein as though fully set forth, is hereby
reclassified from the A1 (General Agricultural) District to
the R2 (Multiple Family Residence) District, and that
Sectional District Map No. 9-5-10 is hereby amended to show
said reclassification in accordance with Exhibit AA 805-A.

AMENDMENT APPLICATION NO. 805
That portion of the Southeast quarter of the Southeast
quarter of the Southwest quarter, Section 9, Township 5 S,
Range 10 West, SBB&M., described as follows:
C05~ENCING at the Southeast corner of the Southwest quarter
of said Section 9; thence N 0° 27" 00" West along the Easterly
line of the Southwest quarter of said Section 9, 676.12 feet
to the Northerly line of the Southeast quarter of the Southeast
quarter of the Southwest quarter of said Section 9; thence
South 89° 27' 56" West 263.25 feet along said Northerly line
to a point; thence South 0° 27' 9" East 131.18 feet to a
point; thence North 89° 27' 56" East parallel with the
Northerly line of said Southeast quarter of the Southeast
quarter of the Southwest quarter of said Section 9, to the
Easterly line of said Southwest quarter; thence North 0° 27'
00" West along said Easterly line, 131.18 feet to the point
of beginning.
