ORDINANCE NO. NS-1539
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND
GIVING NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE SAID CITY
ON NOVEMBER 4, 1980, FOR THE PURPOSE
OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS
OF THE SAID CITY A PROPOSAL TO AUTHORIZE
THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Council of the
City of Santa Ana desires that a special municipal election
be held on November 4, 1980, for the purpose of submitting a
proposal to authorize the issuance of general obligation
bonds for the purpose of financing capital improvements to
the qualified voters of said City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is requesting the Board
of Supervisors of Orange County to order the consolidation
of the said special municipal election with the statewide
general election to be held on the same date;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That a special election be held and
the same is hereby called to be held, in the City of Santa
Ana on November 4, 1980, for the purpose of submitting to
the qualified voters of said city the proposal hereinafter
set forth.
SECTION 2: That on the ballot to be used at
said special election, in addition to any other matters
required by law, there shall be printed substantially the
following:
If permitted by amendment to Article XIII A
of the California constitution, shall the
City Council of the City of Santa Ana be
authorized to issue general obligation bonds
in a principal amount not to exceed
$10,000,000 for the purpose of financing
capital improvements as permitted by such
amendment~

SECTION 3: That above said proposal shall be
designated on the ballot by a letter, pursuant to Section
10219 of the Elections Code of the State of California.
SECTION 4: That the said special municipal
election shall be conducted in accordance with the Elections
Code of the State of California, and the Clerk of the Council
is hereby authorized and directed to take all actions necessary
or appropriate with respect thereto, except to the extent
such actions may be undertaken by the Registrar of Voters of
the County of Orange upon consolidation of the said special
municipal election with the statewide general election.

SECTION 5: That notice of the time and place
of holding-said special municipal election is hereby given,
and the Clerk of the Council is hereby authorized and directed
to give such additional notice thereof as required by law.
