ORDINANCE NO. NS-1605
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTION 2-100
OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO SET
THE STARTING TIME OF REGULAR MEETINGS OF
THE CITY COUNCIL AT 1:00 P.M. ON THE
FIRST AND THIRD MONDAYS OF EACH MONTH
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That section 2-100 of the Santa Ana Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 2-100. Council meetings, time and place.
Regular meetings of the city council shall be
held at the hour of 1:00 p.m. on the first and
third Mondays of each month. At a time determined
by the council, said Monday meetings shall be
recessed until 7:30 p.m. of the same day, at which
hour the council shall reconvene.
Council meetings shall be convened in the council
chambers in the city hall, Santa Ana, California,
and all meetings shall be opened therein, but
may adjourn to such other place or places as
the council may order. If, by reason of damage,
repair, or alteration of the structure, or other
emergency, said place is determined to be unsafe,
meetings may be held for the duration of the
emergency at such place as may be determined by
the mayor or four members of the council.
SECTION 2: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held
to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any
court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
ordinance. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby
declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each
section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion
thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more
sections, subsections, sentence, clauses, phrases, or
portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
