NS-1736 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTIONS 36-230 AND 36-251 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH A UNIFORM 35 MPH SPEED LIMIT ON FIRST STREET EAST OF TOWNSEND STREET, AND TO ESTABLISH A 30 MPH SPEED LIMIT ON FRUIT STREET BETWEEN MABURY STREET AND CABRILLO PARK DRIVE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That Section 36-230 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 36-230. Bolsa Avenue (First Street) Between the west city limits of Santa Ana and Newhope Street ... Between Newhope Street and Habor Boulevard ................ Between Harbor Boulevard and Townsend Street ................ Between Townsend Street and Flower Street .................. Between Flower Street and Birch Street ................... Between Birch Street and Standard Avenue ................ Between Standard Avenue and the east city limits of Santa Ana... 45 5-27-82 40 5-27-82 40 5-27-81 35 5-28-82 35 6-03-82 35 4-27-84 35 6-02-82 SECTION 2: That Section 36-251 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 36-251. Fruit Street Between Mabury Street and Cabrillo Park Drive ............. 30 Between Cabrillo Park Drive and Tustin Avenue ............... 35 5-02-84 6-12-82 ORDINANCE NO. NS-1736 PAGE TWO SECTION 3: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court or competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each section, subsection, sen- tence, clause, phrase or portion thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases, or portions be declared invalid or un- constitutional. SECTION 4: Neither the adoption of this ordinance nor the repeal hereby of any ordinance shall in any manner affect the prosecution for violation of ordinances, which violations were committed prior to the effective date hereof, nor be construed as affecting any of the provisions of such ordinance relating to the collection of any such license or penalty or the penal provision applicable to any violation thereof, nor to affect the validity of any bond or case deposit in lieu thereof, required to be posted, filed or deposit pursuant to any ordin- ance and all rights and obligations thereunder appertaining shall continue in full force and effect.
