THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That Section 35-153 of Cha
Municipal Code, is hereby amended to read
ORDAIN AS

Seo. 35-153. Definitions.
The following words and ~ses whenever used in this
code shall be construed as .ned in this section.

Person shall all domestic and foreign
corporations ;ociations, syndicates, joint-stock
companies, ~rtnerships of every kind, joint
ventures, , Massachusetts business or
common la trusts, and individuals.

water corporation, and cable television
shall have the same meanings as defined
Sections 234, 218, 222, 241 and 215.5,
respectively, of the Public Utilities Code of the
State of California as said sections existed on
January 1, 1993; except "electrical corporation,"
"gas corporation," "water. corporation," and "cable
television corporation" shall be construed to
include any municipality or franchised agency
engaged in the selling or supplying of services to
a service user or service subscriber.

SECTION 2: That a section nu~ered 1 is hereby added
to Chapter 35 of the Santa Ana Code to read as follows:

4 If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
of this ordinance is for any reason held to be
by the decision of any court of

Santa Ana hereby declares that it would have adopted

thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or

prosecution for violation of ordinances, which violations

provision applicable thereto and all rights and
thereunder appertaining shall continue in full force effect.
