Present, Trustees Alderman, McPhee, Greenleaf, Grubb, Board called to order by President Frank In Re Minutes In Re Bo. Co. Gas Co. In Re Fire Hose In Re Bids to Build Additions and Alterations to City Water Plant and the Clerk. MinUtes of Dec. ~lst, 1914, and Dec. E8th, 1914, read and approved. Mr. Homer G. Ames, City Attorney of Anaheim, appeared before the Board and asked that the Assignment by Mortgage be ratified in regard to the Southern Oounties Gas Co. of California. Upon motion of Alderman, duly seconded and carried, the zmtter was Sferred to the next session of the Board. Upon motion of Aldernmn, duly seconded and carried,the Bower~ Rubber Works is granted the contract.as per following bid to-wit: "Will furnish $000 ft.more or less of ~.~" double jacket rubber lined cotton Fire Hose, coupled cormplete in lengths of 50 feet with best ex~pansion ring couplings,Pacific Coast Standard thread, or any thread de~ired by you, and deliver- ed F.O.B. cars, your City as follows: "Victor" brand .... 74 cts. "Reliance" brand.. 84 cts. "Guardian" brand...60 " We guarantee any one of the above per foot. Quoted brands of Fire Hose to stand a test pressure of 400 lbs. per square in~ and guarantee them against all defects of material or wor~anship for three years from date of purchase. h Upon motion of Grubb, duly seconded and carried, the Clerk was directed to proceed to open bids to build additions to City Water Plant; said bids being as follows to-wit: - Geo. C. Picketing bid as follows: "I cropese to build the additions and alterations to the Cit~ Wa~er Plant as per plans and specifications for the sum of Five Thousand two hundred ninety-eight Dollar~ ($~98.00). If the inside of building is plastered, please add to my bid the sum of Seven Hundred Bollars ($700.00)." A.C. Black bid as follows: ~ propose to build the additions and alterations to the City Water Plant as per plans and specifications ~ the sum of Four Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($4600.00). If the inside of building is plastered,please add to my bid the sum of Four Hundred Eighty Dollars (~80.0o)" ~.W. Smith bid as follows: ! propose to build the additions and alterations to the city water plant as per plans and specifications for the sum of Five Thousand & Thirty Dollars ($80~0.00). 314 In Re Report of Buildin~ Inspector In Re Report of City Engineer In Re Permission to Install Gasoline Tank If the inside of building is plastered, please add to my bid the sum of Four Hundred and Seventy Dollars ($470.00~" Grouard & Young bid as follows:- " We hereby propose to build the addition on the City Water Works of Santa Ana, furnish all materials and labor according to the plans and specifications fur- nished by Elwing & Tedford, architects, complete for the sum of $4951.00; if interior plastering is omitted deduct the sum of $255.00." Bishop & Cole bid as follows:- "I propose to build the additions and alterations to the City water plant as per plans and specifica- tions for the sum of $$488.00 Dollars. If the inside pf building is plastered, please add to my bid the sum of ~5S0.00 Dollars." McNeill bid as follows:- "I propose to build the additions and alteratdons to the City Water plant as per plans and specifica- tions for the sum of Fifty One hundred eighty-eight $518~.00. Simon Fluor bid as follows:- " I propose to build the additions and alterations to the Oity Wa~er Plant as per plans and specifica- tions for the sum of $858E.00 Five Thousand Three Hundred Fifty two Dollars. ~ the inside of building is plastered, please add to my bid the sum of $478.00 Pour Hundred Seventy-five Dollars." Boyd bid as follows:- " I propose to build the additions and alterations to the city water plant as per plans and specifica- tions~ · for the sum of Fifty seven Hundred and Sixty ~57~0.00 Oollars. If the insid, of building is plastered,please deduct the sum of Dollars." The bids of Grouard & Young and E.W. Smith were not signed. Upon motion duly seconded mud carried, the said Oontractors were granted permission to sign their bids after they had been opened. The report of the City Engineer for the month of December, was read, and on motion of Alderman, duly seconded and carried, sands was referred to the Finance Conm~it tee. L.C. Rogers petitioned the Board for permission to install a 120 gallon gasoline tank to be buried in ground at 1028 ~.. 4th St., Upon motion of Alderman duly seconded and carried, the petition was referred to a comn. ittee, the President named the following Conm~ittee: Alderman, and W.~.. Equllbert,Cormnissioner of California Building, Panama-Pacific-Exposition, was read and ordered filed. The Ordinance as prepared by the City Attorney to divide the City of Santa Aha into five Wards and to divide the said City into Ten Municipal glectiou Precincts was read. Upon notion of McPhee, duly seconded and carried, the Ordinance is referred back to the City AttOrney. Trustee McPhee explained to the Board that P.E. Ford would pay a yearly rental of SZO.O0 for the B acres West of the Race Track owned by the City. Said rental payable in advarce. Upon motion of Grubb, duly seconded and carried, the check of P.E. Ford as presented by Trustee McPhee was accepted and the ~ acres wes~ of the Race Track rented to D.E.Ford for the term o£ &? yea~from date, January 1st, 1915. Ordinance No.590 was read and gone over section by section. Edison Co. In Re Water Pipe and Hydrants and as same are recorded in Book No. 1, page 101 to 104 inclus ive. Upon motion of Grubb, duly seconded and carried, four trees on Fruit St., as requested by ]~r. Grubb,are to be removed. Upon motion of NcPhee,duly seconded and carried, three camphor trees on North Main at the property of Walter Eden, are to be removed. Upon motion of MePhee, duly seconded and carried, the President of the Board is directed to investigate why the paving on West Fifth St. ,is not progressing. Upon motion of Grubb, duly seconded and carried, the contract with the Southern Cal. Edison Co., is hereby directed to be signed for the term of two years with & forfeiture, said term being January let, 1915,to Dec. 51st, 19165 "the Gonsumer herein shall have the one year right to cancel this agreement at any time afte~,serv- ing upon the ~ompany a notice of its intention to cancel said agreement, and thirty days after the service of said notice upon the Company, th9 said Agreement shall be can- celled and b~come null and void." The Board proceeded to ballot-on the applications for fire truck driver.
