On motion of Trustee MoPhee duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, the request was denied. # Upon motion of Trustee Tubbs$ duly seconded and carrie a license is granted to ~horeman & 01ark to conduct · pool room in ~h~roade Building on F~et 4th St. On motion duly seconded and ~arried, the committee with reference to the widening of poinsettia St., ia continued. On motion dui7 ~econded and carried, the committee appoint- ed to investigate the grade on West Ohestnut is oontinudd. # The motion of Trmatee Maryatt to compel the P.g.R.R. to move its teaok on Mapke St., to the center of said Street did not meet with a second. Upon the request of Trustee Greenleaf the President continued the con~ittee. On motion of and carried, Trustee MoPhee, duly seconded b7 Greenleaf that the President appoint a co~ittee to investigate conditions of the storm water drainage of ~ast ~hestnut, the President appointed the Street Oommittee and City ~ngineer as such committee and to report at next meeting. On motion of Trustee~Greenleaf, duly seconded and carried, the Oity Olerk is instructed to make the following transfer $§000.00 from the General Fund to Water Bond $4, $1000.00 from the Street ~o Water Bond $4, $1558.~$ from the Water Bond indebtedness to Water Bond$4. # Upon motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded and carried, the Supt. of Streets is instructed to repair the approach to the alley Worth of Olune's Theater, the approach back of the F. A M. Bank, and repair holes in the alley back the Dragon between Main and Bush. # A motion b7 Trustee Maryatt that property owners on West Highland be given permission to have gravel hauled on said Street as far West f~ Flower St., as property owners will pay for same without fLrst ~aying cement curb and City to spread gravel. This motion was dmly seconded by Green- leaf and carried. Idisen Co., asking for an agreement with the Oity to permit them the right to ground the transformer wires by attaching same to the City water mains, was read, and on motion of Trustee Tubbs, that same be referred to two members of the Board and the Water Supt., was duly seconded and carried. The application of Frank Sawyer for the position of Motor Cop was on motion of Trustee Tubbs, duly seconded by Greenleaf and carried, ordered received and placed on file. A petition signed by the majority of the property owners on Orchard St., between Ross and Patton, to have same oiled and graveled, property owners to pay for material city to spread and roll same, was on motion of Trustee Maryatt, duly seconded by Greenleaf and carried, granted. On motion of Trustee T~bbs, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, the petitions of the property owners on Lacy an¢ Stafford ets., to have same oiled and gravelled, was r~ferred back to the petitioners for more signatures. On motion of Trustee Tubb8, duly seconded by Maryatt and carried, action on the petitions to oil and gravel the follow- ing streets: Stafford from French to"g" ; Lacy from 5th to Vance was deferred to some future date on account of the word- ing of the petition not conforming in reference to the spread- ing of the oil. On motion of Trustee Greanleaf, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried, that a comittee be appointed in reference to paying the bonds and interest for paving West 5th St., along the property of the West Fifth St. school, the President appoint- ing Trustees Greenleaf and Tubbs and City Attorney Scott as such committee. On motion of Trustee Maryatt, duly seconded by Greenleaf and carried, it was decided that the City put in a culvert under the Fifth St. paving at Sullivan St. under the supervision of the City ~.~ineer. The committee appointed to investigate the bonds for paving West 8th Bt. in reference to paying the bonds on the property of the West Bth St., school was on motion of Trustee Mar2att, duly seconded by Tubbs and carried, continued for one week. On motion of Trustee Maryatt, duly seconded by Greenleaf and carried, the books in reference to the bonds of paving West Bth St. be kept in the vault in charge of the City Olerk and only be shown in the presence of the Street Supt. Mr. Harlow Hallida¥ representing the property owners on g. Ohestnut wes before the Board in reference to the pav- ing being done on said street, stating that they were not satisfied with the concrete on the gmat block. On motion of Trustee Greenleaf, that the President a committee to investigate the work to have a ~$st made of the asphaltum used, was duly seconded by Maryatt and carried. The President appointed Trustees Maryatt and Greenleaf as such committee. Rev. J.G. Xeenedy representing the gbell, W.C.T.U., P.T. Association and Ministerial Association was before the Board in reference to the appointment of Mfs. Lea Warren as one of the Censor commission to take the place of Mrs. A.J.Crookshank, who had never Qualified. On motion of Trustee Maryatt that Section 1 of Ordinance 8o that No.§61 be Wnded, the Sensor aommission be given power to see a picture before shown to the public, and ~ Mfs.Lea Warren to succeed Mrs.A.J.Crookehank on the commi~ ion was duly seconded by McPhee and carried,, the 0it¥ to notify Rsv.Paul Wright, J.F.Adams and Mfs. Lea Warren of their appointment and to call at the Clerk's office and take the oath of office. On motion of Trusteee~that the remodeling of the Arcade Room- ing house be accepted subject to the O.K.of the Fire Chief was duly seconded and carried. On motion of Trustee Maryatt, duly seconded and carried, the City Clerk is instructed to notify R.R.Smith to discontinue the supply of ice -~at the City Hall until furthor notice. On motion d~ly seconded and carried, the City Attorney is instructed to write Mrs.g.Ackerman of Springfield Ohio, and request her to put in a retaining wall on her property on East Chestnut. On motion of Trustee Maryatt that S.H.Fin!e¥ be engaged to work in conjunction with the City Engineer and Water Supt. in reference to making recomendations for the betterment of conditions on =he Outfall sewer line in the West part of thc City, was duly seconded by Tubbs and carried. On motion of Trustee Tubbs, that the same committee with the assistance of Supt. of Streets 0brien inspect conditions for a culvert on West First St., was duly seconded and carried.
