AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA REZONING PROPERTY GENERALLY
LOCATED AT THE WESTERN TERMINUS OF GARY
AVENUE SOUTH OF SEGERSTROM AVENUE FROM
HEAVY MANUFACTURING (M2) TO LIGHT
MANUFACTURING (M1)

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows:
A. Amendment Application No. 00-17 has been filed with the City of Santa
Ana to change the zoning district designation of certain real property generally
located on the western terminus of Gary Avenue from the Heavy Manufacturing
zoning district (M2) to the Light Manufacturing (M1) zoning district.
B. The Planning Commission held a duly noticed public hearing on this matter,
a at its regular meeting of January 22, 2001. At the conclusion of its
consideration, the Planning Commission voted unanimously 7:0 to recommend
that the City Council adopt this amendment.
C. This Council, prior to taking action on this ordinance, has held a duly
noticed public hearing, on Amendment Application No. 00-17.
D. By resolution adopted this day, the City Council has approved
Environmental Review No. 99-06 for this project, which includes the instant
ordinance.
SECTION 2. The Light Manufacturing (M1) district designation as proposed in
Amendment Application No. 00-17, is hereby found and determined to be consistent with
the General Plan of the City of Santa Ana and otherwise justified by the public necessity,
convenience and general welfare.
SECTION 3. That certain real property generally located on the western terminus
of Gary Avenue south of Segerstrom Avenue, more particularly described in Amendment
Application No. 00-17, is hereby reclassified, from the Heavy Manufacturing zoning
district (M2) to the Light Manufacturing (M1) zoning district.
SECTION 4. Amended Sectional Distdct Map number 28-5-10, showing the above
described change in use district designation, is hereby approved.
