A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DETERMINING AND DECLARING THAT WEEDS WHICH BEAR SEEDS OF
A WINGY OR DOW~UZ NATURE AND ATTAIN SUCH A LARGE GROWTH
AS TO BECON[E A FIRE MENACE ~HEN DRY, AND %~HICH ARE NOXIOUS
AND DANGEROUS, ARE GRO~ING UPON C~RTAIN STREETS, SIDEWALKS,
AND PRIVATE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF SANTA ANA, AND ARE
A PUBLIC NUISANCE~ DIRECTING THE STREET SUPERINTENDENT
TO POST NOTICES TO DESTROY SAID W~EDS AS REQUIRED BY LAW;
FIXING THE TI~ FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS AND PROTE~TS, AND
DIRECTING THE ABATEMENT THEREOF IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER
13, PART ~, DIVISION 3, TITLE 4 ON T~ GOVERN~ENT CODE OF
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
Pursuant to th~ provisions of Chapter 13, Part ~,
Division 3, Title 4 of the Government Cods of the State of Cali-
fornia, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby
determines and declares that weeds which when mature bear wingy
or downy seeds, which will attain such a large growth as to
become a fire menace when dry or which are otherwise noxious
and dangerous, are growing upon certain strsets, sidewalks and
private property in said City, and ars hereby dsclared to be a
public nuisance, and that the names of such streets as they
commonly known are hereinafter set forth and the property front-
ing upon suoh streets or sidewalks, or in front of which suoh
nuisance exists are hereinaftsr particularly described by lot
and block numbers according to the official assessment map:
Acacia Place, Adams, Alona, Anahurst Place, Apricot, Artesia,
Aspen, Avalon, Bachman Drive, Baker, Beechwood, Benton Way,
Berkeley, Beverly Place, Birch, Bishop, Bonnie Brae, Booth,
Borchard, Breeden, Bristol, Broadway, Brown, Buffalo, Bush,
Camile, Camden, Carlton, Catalina, Cedar, Central, Chapman,

SECTION 2: The Street Superintendent of the City of Santa Ana is
hereby instructed to prepare and post notices to destroy said weeds
as required by law. Said notices shall be posted at least'five ($)
days prior to the time for hearing objections and protests by the
City Council of said City, and shall be conspicuously posted in
front of the property on which, or in front of which such nuisance
exists, one notice to each piece or parcel of property in separate
ownership of not over fifty (80) feet frontage, or not more than
two notices to any piece or parcel of property in separate owner-
ship with a frontage of one hundred (100) feet or less. If the
frontage of any piece or parcel of property in separate ownership
is greater than 100 feet, notices shall be posted at not more
than one hundred (100) feet in distance apart.
SECTION .3: The City Council does hereby fix April 21, 1952, at
V:30 o'clock p.m., as the time, and the Council Chamber in the
City Hall of said City, as the place, for hearing objections and
protests to the proposed removal of such weeds.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 1Vth day of March,
