· Overtim~ - Not less than one and one-half (1 l/Z) times
the above rates.
Sundays and holidays - Not less than one and one-half
(1 1/~) times the above rates.
The foregoing.prevailing wage schedules are based upon a
working day of eight (8) hours, and in the event that laborers,
workmen or mechanics are employed lees than eight (8) hours
per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that
fraction of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of
employment bea~s to eight (8).
In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.§ of
the Labor Code as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of
and in accordance with the regulations of the California
Apprenticeship council, properly indentured apprentices may
be employed in the prosecution of the work°
The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory
check'certified by a ~esponsible bank and payable to the order.
of the City of Santa Ana, or a bidder'~s bond, for an amoun$
not less than ten (lC) per cent of the aggregate sum of the
bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will entsr into the pro-
posed contract if the same is awarded to him, and in event of
failure to enter into such contract said check or bond shall ·
become the property of the City°
The amount of the bond to be given to secure $ faithful
performance of the contract for said work shall be fifty (80)
per cent of the contract price thereof, and an additional bond
in an amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the contract price
for said work shall be given to secure the payment of claims
for any materials or supplies furnished for the performance
of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any
work or labor of any kind done thereon, and the Contractor will
also be required to furnish a certificate that he carries com-
pensation insurance cove~tng his employees upon work to be
done under contract which may be entered into between him and
the said City for the construction of said work.
No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who is not
licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's
License Act, or to when a°proposal form has not been issued
by the City Engineer°
The work is to be done in accordance with the profiles,
plans and specifications of the C~ty of Santa Aha on file in
the offlee of the City Engineer, Room 201, of the City Hall
of Santa Ana, California. Copies of the plans and specifica-
tions will be furnished upon application to the C~ty Engineer
for which a.charge of($A.O0) fo~r dollars will be required.

The Board of T~stees of the City of Santa Aha reserves
the right to reject any and all bids°

That the City Council of the City of Santa Aha has ascer~
tained and does hereby determine that the general prevailing rate
of per diem wage in the locality of t~e City of Santa Aha, Calif=
ornia, for each craft or type of workman needed to execute the
work hereinabove specified is as set forth in the form of notice
hereinabove set forth, and said notice shall contain said
schedule of per diem wages to be paid to the workmen in said work°
