RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
CALIF0~qIA ON APRIL 7, 1953
%¥HEREAS, a special municipal election was held and conducted in
the City of Santa ~na on Tuesday, the 7th day of april, 1953 as re-
quired by law; and
~&qIEREAS, it appears that notice of said election was duly and
legally given, that voting precincts were properly established, that
election officers were appointed and election supplies furnished, and
that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes
cast thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof, made and
declared in time, form and manner as required by the general laws of
the state governing elections in cities of the sixth class and as re-
quired by the Charter of the City of Senta Ann; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City met at the Council Chamber
of the said Council on Tuesday, the 14th day of April, 1953, to can-
vass the returns of said election and install the newly elected offi-
cers, as a result of which the City Council finds that the number of
votes cast, the names of the persons voted for, and other matters re-
quired by law, to be as hereinafter stated;
EOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
That said special municipal election was held and conducted in
the City of Santa Ann on Tuesday, the 7th day of April, 1953 as pro-
vided for in the Charter of the City of Santa Ann and tae Election
Code of the State of California;
That the voting precincts established for the purpose of holding
said election, consisting of a consolidation of the regular election
precincts established for holding general state and county elections,
were in accordance with the Ordinance calling said special municipal
election;
That the total number of votes cast in said election was

That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for
which each person was voted for, the number of votes given at each
such consolidated precinct to each said person, together with the
whole number of votes including the absentee votes given in the
City and in consolidated voting precinct number ~3, which consisted
of that portion of the Santa Aha High School District lying out-
side the corporate limits of the City, to each of said persons,
are as follows:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THEREFORE:
That at said special municipal election COURTNEY R. CHANDLER,
MILFORD W. DAHL and WILLIAM JEROME were elected to the City Council,
to the office of member of the City Council for the term of four
years and JOHN L. McBRIDE and THOMAS F. LARSEN were elected to the
City Council, to the office of member of the City Council for the
term of two years;
Also, that at said special municipal election WILBUR BARR,
FRANK L. BOWMAN and JOHN C. BELLOWS were elected to the Board of
Education to the office of member of the Board of Education for the
term of four years and GEORGE A. KING and C. B. KNICKERBOCKER were
elected to the Board of Education to the office of the member of the
Board of Education for the term of two years;
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha
at an adjourned regular meeting of said City Council held on the 14th
day of ~pril, 1953 for the purpose of canvassing the returns of said
special municipal election.
