RESOLUTION REQUESTING ACQUISITION AID FOR THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT HEADQUARTERS SITE UNDER CHAPTER 47,
STATUTES OF 1944
WHEREAS, the State of California under Chapter 47, Statutes
of 1944 (4th Extra Session) has appropriated funds for allotment
to provide financial assistance to local agencies defined therein
as counties, cities or cities and counties for the purpose of de-
fraying not to exceed one-half the cost of acquiring rights of way
or sites for public works projects determined to be desirable in
post-war public works programs of such local agencies and the City
of Santa Ana, hereinafter designated as "Local Agency", desires to
submit its request for State aid in the acquisition of a right of
way or site under said Act; and
~tEREAS, a request to the State Allocation Board for such
aid has been prepared and presented to this Legislative Body for
consideration and the Local Agency has made provisions for paying
one-half or more of the cost of such acquisition;
NOW, THEBEFORE, BE IT RESOLED: That the City of Santa Aha,
the Local Agency, hereby submits its request for acquisition aid to
the State Allocation Board and requests that the State pay the
State's share of the total cost to be paid for the acquisition for
which the Local Agency is requesting aid and the total estimated
cost to be paid for the acquisition of the right of way or site for
which aid is requested under said aet is the sum of $28,857.40.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That for the purpose of this request,
CARL J. THORNTON, City Manager, Santa Aha, California be and he here-
by is designated as the authorized Agent of Local Agency and is here-
by authorized and directed to sign the herein mentioned request on
behalf of Local Agency and to submit the same to the State Allocation
Board together with a certified statement of the total cost to be
paid for the acquisition of the herein mentioned right of way or site
and such other information as may be required; and said authorized
Agent is further authorized and directed as the representative of
Local Agency to conduct all negotiations and conclude all arrange-
ments, including submission to the Director of Finance, of appli-
cations for payments, which may be necessary to secure payment of
the State's share of the cost of the acQuisitio~ of the aforemen-
tioned right of way or site.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Santa Aha
at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of April, 1953.
