CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES TO
WIDEN DELHI ROAD AND CREATE A CONNECTING LINK BETWEEN
THE NORTHERLY AND SOUTHERLY PORTIONS OF ORANGE AVENUE
WHEREAS, Orange Avenue as it now exists in the City of Santa
Aha, California, has no connecting link between Delhi Road and Cen-
tral Avenue and there is an increasing need for such a connection be-
cause of the rapid industrial growth in the Southeastern part of
Santa Aha and a present need for right of way for the laying of sew-
ers on said Street; and
WHEREAS, Delhi Road as it exists near its intersection with
Orange Avenue is 30 feet on the North side of the center line and 20
feet on the South side of the center line and there is a present and
increasing need for a full 30 feet on the south side of said center
line of Delhi Road to provide a street of adequate width to accommo-
date the present and future demands of traffic thereon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana hereby finds and determines that the public interest
and necessity require that Orange Avenue be connected between Delhi
Road and Central Avenue to provide for through traffic flow thereon
and to provide a right of way for utility services to service the area
and require that Delhi Road be widened to a standard width of 60 feet,
all as shown on a map thereof on file in the office of the City Engi-
neer and herein referred to for greater detail and further require
that said City do have, take, and acquire an easement for said purposes
and for all of the purposes of a public street over and through that
certain real property lying in the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange,
State of California and described as:
That portion of Blocks "B" and "C" in South Santa Aha as
per map thereof recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 5, at
Page 43, Records of Orange County, State of California, de-
scribed as a strip of land 60 feet in width being thirty feet on
each side of the following described center line:
Beginning at a point on the center line of Delhi Road 58.56
feet easterly from the intersection of the center line of Delhi
Road with the center line of Orange Avenue as shown on a Map of
Tract No. 638, Recorded in Miscellaneous ~aps, Book 19, Page 17,
Records of Orange County; running thence in a straight line to a
point in the center line of Central Avenue which is 5 feet
easterly from the intersection of the center line of Central
Avenue with the center line of Orange Avenue as shown on a
map of said South Santa Ana recorded in Book 5, Page 43,
Niscellaneous Naps Records of Orange County, excepting there-
from any portions of Delhi Road and Central Avenue previously
granted.
Also that portion of Block "B" of the said South Santa Aha
Tract described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the center line of Delhi Road 81.84
feet more or less westerly from the intersection of the center
line of Orange Avenue with the center line of Delhi Road as
shown on the aforementioned Tract No. 638; thence Southerly 30
feet to the Northwest Corner of said Block "B" South Santa Aha;
thence Easterly o~ a line parallel to and distant 30 feet from
the center line of Delhi Road to a point in the Westerly right-of-
way line of the Pacific Electric Railroad; thence Northerly 30
feet to the center line of Delhi Road; thence Westerly along the
center line of Delhi Road to the point of beginning, excepting
that portion previously dedicated for public use.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Attorney be and he is
hereby ordered and directed to bring an action in the name of the City
of Santa Aha in the Superior Court of the State of California in and
for the County of Orange, for condemnation of said property necessary
to be taken as herein ordered and heretofore
things necessary to prosecute said action to

Ana, a N~nicipal Corporation, plaintiff in the condemnation action or-
dered herein, take immediate possession and ~se of the property herein
ordered to be acquired, upon complying with the requirements of the law
applicable thereto and that the City Attorney report to the City Coun-
cil, the amount of money required therefor as soon as the same h~s been
ascertained.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the said action for condemnation
of said property so to be acquired shall be taken in accordance with
Section l~, Article I of the Constitution of the State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha
at its regular meeting held om the 1st day of June ,
1953.
