Notice is hereby given bidders that in accordance with the
provisions of Section 1~?0 of the Labo~ Code, the City Council
Of the City of Santa Ana has ascertained the prevailing rate of

Overtime ~ Not less than one mud one-half ('1ol/2) times
the above rateS°
Sundays and holidays ~ Not less than one and one-half
(1.1/2) times the above rates°
The foregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon a
working day of eight (8) hours, and in the event that laborers,
workmen, or mechanics are employed less than eight (8) hours
per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deeme~ to be'that
fraction of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of
employment bears to bight (8)°
In accordance With the provisions of Section 1~7.5 of
the Labor Code as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939.
and in accordance with the regulations of the California
Apprenticeship CoUncil, properly indentured apprentices may
be employed in the.prosecution of the work°
The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory
Check certified by a responsible bank and payable to thd order
of the City'of Santa Aha. or a bidder,s bond, for an amount
not less than ten (lC) per cent of the aggregate sum of the
bid. as a guarantee that'~he bidder will enter into the
posed contract if the same is awarded to him. and in event of
failUre to enter into such contract said check or bond shall
become the property of the C ~yo
The amount of the bond to be given to secure a faithCul
performance of the contract for said work shall be fifty (50)
per cent of the contract price thereof, a~d an additional bond
in an~an-~t equal to fifty(50~ per cent of the contract price
for saLd work shall bo given to secure the payment of claims
for,any materials or sui~plies furnished for the performance
of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any
work orilabo~ of any kind dons thereon, and the Contractor will
also be required to furnish a cer$ificate that he c~rrie$ com~
pensatlon insurance covering his employees upon work to be
done under contra~t which may'be entered into b'etween him and
the said City for the construction of~sald work°
No bid will be accepted from a ContractoP who is not
licensed in accordance with the provisions of the contractor's
License Act, or to whom a proposal form has not been issued
by the City Enginee~o
The work is to be done in accordanc~with ths profiles, plans
and specifications of the City of Santa Ana on file in the office
of the City Engineer, Boom 201, of the City Hall of Santa
California° Copi*s of the plans and soecifications will be furnished
upon application to the City Engineer for which a charge of
dollars will be required° The charge will not be ref~udedo
right' to = s~ect any and alA bids.,
