RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA,
AWARDING CONTRACT FOR WORK OR
IMPROVEMENT ORDERED BY RESOLUTION
NO. 53-78 OF SAID CITY COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, this City Council, on the 1st day of June,
1953, duly adopted Resolution No. 53-78 ordering the follow-
ing work to be done or improvement to be made, to wit: All
that certain work or improvement described in Resolution
No. 53-43, duly adopted by this City Council on the 30th day
of March, 1953; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to and in accordance with said
Resolution No. 53-78, a notice inviting sealed bids or pro-
posals for doing said work or improvement was duly published
and posted; and
WHEREAS, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., July 6,
1953, at the Council Chambers of this City Council, the time
and place fixed for the opening of said sealed bids or pro-
posals, all sealed bids or proposals for said work which were
delivered to the Clerk of the Council were presented to this
City Council and, in open session, were publicly opened,
examined and declared; and
WHEREAS, this City Council finds that said resolutions
were duly adopted and contained the matters and things required
by law and that all notices required by law have been duly
given and all hearings required by law duly held and that each
and every step in the proceedings prior to and including the
opening of said bids has been duly and regularly taken and that
this City Council has duly acquired Jurisdiction;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER as follows:
Section 1. That this City Council does hereby
determine that the bid of Sully-Miller Contracting Company,
a corporation, located at Orange, California, is the lowest
regular bid for said work of any responsible bidder and that
said bid is accompanied by a good and sufficient proposal
guaranty which is satisfactory to this City Council, and
this City Council does hereby award the contract for said
work to the above named bidder, at the prices named in the
bid of said bidder. All bids or proposals for said work,
other than said lowest regular bid above accepted, are hereby
rejected.
Section 2. That the Clerk of the Council is hereby
directed to publish twice in the SANTA ANA INDEPENDENT, a news-
paper of general circulation published and circulated in the
City of Santa Aha, a notice of this award. Said notice shall
contain the matters and things required by law and shall be
published in the manner required by law.
