HomeMy WebLinkAbout54-026RESOLUTION NO. 54-26 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA mA DETERMINING AND DECLARING, THAT WEEDS ~%~ICH BEAR SEEDS OF A WINGY OR DOWNY NATURE AND ATTAIN ~ CH A LARGE GROWTH AS TO BECOME A FIRE MENACE MEN DRY, AND WHICH ARE NOXIOUS AND DANGEROUS, ARE GROWING UPON CERTAIN STREETS, SIDEWALKS, AND PRIVATE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY OF SANTA ~A, AND ARE A PUBLIC NUISANCE: DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC VORKS TO POST NOTICES TO DESTROY SAID WEEDS AS REQbIRED BY LAW: FIXING THE TIME FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS AND PROTESTS, AND DIRECTING THE ABATEMENT THEREOF IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 13, PART 2, DIVISION 3, TITLE 4 OF THE G0,VERNNENT CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. Said notices shall be posted at least five (8) days prior to the time for hearing objections and protests by the City Council of said City, and shall be conspicuously posted in front of the prQperty on which, or in front of which such nuisance exists, one notice to each piece or parcel of property in s~parate ownership of not over fifty (50) feet frontage, or not more than two notices to any piece or parcel of property in separate owner- ship with a frontaEe of one hundred (100) feet or less. If the frontage of any piece or parcel of property in separate ownership is greater than 100 feet, notices shall be posted at not more than one hundred (100) feet in distance apart. SECTI.ON 3: The City Council does hereby fix April 19~h , 1954, at ?:30 o'clock P.M., as the time, and the Council Chamber in the City Hall of said City, as the place, for hearing objections and protests to the proposed removal of such weeds.
