HomeMy WebLinkAbout54-039RESOLUTION NO. 54-39 GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO CITY OF SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINNABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "DELHI AND BRISTOL N.W."~ AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO WHEREAS, the owners of certain real property~hereinbelow de- scribed have filed a petition with the Clerk of the Council, request- ing that the City of Santa Ana, California annex said real property, stating that said real property is uninhabited, consenting in writing that said real property may be taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to such annexation; and WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California has approved the description of said real property as herein set out for the purpose of annexation and the Planning Commission of Santa Ana has approved the annexation of.said territory; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all that certain territory under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said terri~ tory is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters residing in it on April lst~ 1954 , the date when said petition was filed, and finds that said territory is contiguous to the City of Sant~Ana, California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as: A portion of Section 23, Township 5 South, Range l0 West, Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of Said Section 23, being also an angle point in the City limits of the City of Santa Ana, at the intersection of the center line of Bristol Street with the center line of Delhi Road to the East, and running thence North 0© 10, 45" East 2,674.59 feet along the East line of said Section 23 and the Westerly boundary of the City of Santa Ana, to the Northeast corner of the Southeast quarter of said Section 23; thence South 89© 30' 00" West 1,327.33 feet along the North line of said Southeast quarter to the Northwest corner of the North one- half of the Northeast quarter of the Southeast quarter of . said Section 2 · 3, thence South 89© 39' 35" West ~26.87 feet to a point in a line which produced Westerly terminates at the Southwest corner of that certain parcel of land conveyed to R. M. Long by deed recorded in Book 51, Page 69, of Deeds, Records of Los Angeles County, California, said point and line being distant on said produced line North 89° 39t 35" East 900.33 f~et from said ~o~thwest corner of Long parcel; thence South 12v 20' 35" East b34.3U feet to a p~int in the censer line of the Delhi Drainage District ditch, thence South 4o ll' 551~ East 55.29 feet to the Northwest corner of that certain parcel of land conveyed to Charles 0. Norton by deed recorded June 5, 1936, in Book 826, Page 328, of Official Records of said Orange County, as shown on said Record of Survey; thence South 0° 10' 35" East 1,990.85 feet along the West line of said Norton parcel to the South line of said Section 23 at a point distant thereon Westerly 1,600.00 feet from said Southeast corner of Section 23; thence North 89° 48' 45" East 1,600.00 feet along said South line of Section 23 to the Southeast corner thereof, being the point of begin- ning of the parcel described herein. That the Council hereby designates "DELHI AND BRISTOL N.W." as an appropriate name for said annexation. That said City Council hereby declares its intention to and it will annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Elementary School District and ~pon the completion of said annexation, said territory shall be and become a part of said School District. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 17th day of May 1954 at the hour of 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall at the intersection of Third and Main Streets in the City of Santa Ana, California, is the time and place fixed at which the City Council will hear protests made by any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time before said hour, any owner of such property may file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state the name of the owner and a description and area of the property in general terms. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of April , 1954.
