THE POSITION OF CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, CARL J. THORNTON has for the past 15 months been
the City Manager of the City of Santa Ana and was for some 20
months immediately prior thereto, City Administrator of said City;
and
WHEREAS, during said period a substantial reduction in the
tax rate and increased efficiency in the performance of nearly all
governmental functions have resulted from the many changes intro-
duced and here now established;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the compensation for
the position of City Manager of the City of Santa Ana is hereby
fixed at $1,000.00 per month to start August l, 1954.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of August, 1954.
