ANNEXATION TO CItY OF SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIG-
NATED '~ AT KING ANNEX", AND GIVING NOTICE
OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO
WHEREAS, the owners of certain real property hereinbelow described have
filed a petition with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of
Santa Ana, California, annex said real property, stating that the same is unin-
habited, consenting in writing that said real property may be taxed to pay any
indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to such annexation; and
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California, has
approved the description of said real property as herein set out for the purpose
of annexation and the Planning Con~f ssion of Santa Ana has approved the annexation
of said territory;
N0W~ THE1REFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
~anta Aha hereby declares its intention to annex all that certain territory under
the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 and finds
and hereby declares that said territory is deemed uninhabited since it had less
than 12 registered voters residing in it on January 21, 1955, the date when said
petition was filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana,
California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as:
That portion of Lot 9 of the Tmnds of S. H. Finley, as shown on
a record of Survey map filed in Book 2, Page 9 in the Office of the
County Recorder of Orange County, California, described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Lot 9, said point be-
ing located on the center line of King Street 109.60 feet North 27°
30' 00" East from the intersection of the center line of said King
Street with the center line of Eleventh Street as shown on a map of
Tract 1685 recorded in Book ~9, Page ~5, Miscellaneous Maps, Records
of Orange County, California; said center line of King Street being
on the Westerly City Limits of the City of Santa Ana; running from said
point South 27° 30' 00" West 276.91 feet; thence North 62° 30' 00"
West 291.99 feet to a point in the Westerly line of said Lot 9; thence
North 27° 30' 00" East 122.09 feet along the Westerly line of said
Lot 9 to the Northwest corner thereof; thence North 89° 34' 00" East
330.50 feet along the North line of said Lot 9 to the point of beginning.
The above described parcel is shown as the 1.337 acre parcel on a
Record of Survey map filed in Book 27, Page 25, Records of Survey
filed in the Office of the County Recorder of Orange County, California.
That said Council hereby designated "ELEVENTH AT KING ANNEX" as an appropri-
ate name for said annexation.
That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will annex said
territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Elementary School District,
Santa Ana High School District and Santa Ana Junior College District and
upon the completion of said annexation, said territory shall be and become
a part of said School District.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that March 21, 1955 at the hour of 7:30 P. M.
in the Council Chambers of the City Hall at the intersection of Third and
Main Streets in the City of Santa Ana, California, is the time and place fixed
at which said Council will hear protests made by any person owning real property
within said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time before said hour,
any owner of any of said property may file written protest against this proposed
annexation. Such protest should state the name of the owner and a description
and area of the property in general terms.
