CITY OF SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DES-
CRIBED HEHEIN AND DESIGNATE~ ~'WIEGAND AND MATTHEWS ANNEX",
AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HF~ING OF PROTESTS
WHEREAS, the Boundary Co~mission of Orange County, California, has
approved the description of certain real property as herein set out for the
purpose of annexation and the Planning Commission of Santa Ana has approved
the annexation of said territory; and
WHEREAS, the owners of said real property b~ve filed a petition with
the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Ana, California,
annex said real property, stating that the same is uninhabited, consenting in
writing that said real property may be taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability
of said City contracted prior to such annexation;
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said territory under the
provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 and finds and
hereby declares that said territory is deemed uninhabited since it had less than
12 registered voters residing in it on March 14th, 1955, the date when said petition
was filed~ that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, California,
lies in the County of Orange, and is described as:
Beginning at an angle point in the Southerly Boundary of the
City of Santa Aha described as the intersection of the Southerly ex-
tension of the East line of the Seccombe Addition to Dyer as shown on
a map thereof recorded in book 8, page 17 of Miscellaneous Maps, Official
Records of Orange County, California, with the North line of Seccombe
Tract as shown on a map thereof recorded in book 8, page 89 of said
Miscellaneous Maps and running thence South 89° 13' 55" East 1243.41
feet along said city boundary and said North line and the Easterly ex-
tension thereof to the Northwesterly line of Irvine Subdivision as shown
on a map thereof recorded in book l, page 88 of said Miscellaneous Maps,
said Northwesterly line being also the center line of Newport Avenue;
thence South 39° ~9' 25" West 106.54 feet along said Northwesterly line
and said center lines thence continuing along said Northwesterly line and
center line South 39 48' 15" West 1593.61 feet to an intersection with
the Easterly extension of the South line of said Seccombe Tract; thence
North 89° O4~ 15" West 816.02 feet along said extension and South line
to the Southwest corner of said Seccombe Tract; thence North 2° 18' 30"
East 1321.68 feet along the West line of said Seccombe Tract to the
Northwest corner of said Seccombe Tract; thence South 88° 51' 10" East
442.90 feet along said North line of said Seccombe Tract; to the center
line of Harbor Road; thence continuing along said North line S 89°
13' 5~" East 165.00 feet to the point of beginning.
Above described parcel is as shown on a Record of Survey recorded
in book 29~ page 7 of Records of Survey of said Official Records of Orange
County.
That said Council hereby designated "WIEGAND and MATTHEWS kNNEX"
as an appropriate name for said annexation.
That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will annex
said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Elementary School District,
Santa Aha High School District and Santa Ana Junior College District and upon
the completion of said annexation~ said territory shall be and become a part
of said School Districts.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that May 2nd, 1955, at the hour of 7:30 P. M.
in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main Btreetsj in the
City of Santa Ana, California, is the time and place fixed at which said Council
will hear protests ~ade by any person owning real property within said territory
so proposed to be annexed. At any time before said hour, any owner of any of
said property may file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such
protest should state the name of the owner and a description and area of the
property in the general terms.
PASSED AND ~DOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at
its adjourned regular meeting held on the 14th day of March, 1955.
