D~SCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNA'£~:u "S'~HEN GRI~ET ANNEX",
AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR NEARING OF PROTESTS
WHEREAS, the Boundary Comm~ ssion of Orange County, California, has approved
the description of certain real property as herein set out for the purpose of
~nnex~tion and the Planning Commission of ~anta Aha has approved the annexation
of said territory; and
WHEREAS, the owners of said real property have filed a petition with
the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Aha, California, annex
said real property, stating that the same is uninhabited, consenting in writing
that said real property m~y be taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability of said
City contracted prior to such annexation;
NOW, THEREFOEE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex ali of said territory under the
provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 and finds and
hereby declares that said territory is deemed uninhabited since it had less than
12 registered voters residing in it on April 13, 1955, the date when said petition
was filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa ~ua, California,
lies in the County of Orange, and is described as:
That portion of Sections 22 and 23, Township 5 South, Range 10
West, S. B. B. & M., described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the West line of the Southwest quarter
of the Northeast q,,~rter of said Section 23, said point being located
1071.21 feet South 0° 43' 40" West from the Northwest corner of the
said Southwest quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section 23, said
point being in the Southerly line of the City of Santa Aha at a point
10.35 feet South 89° 29' 40" West from an angle point therein; thence
South 0° 43' ~0" West 243.56 feet along the Westerly line of said South-
west q,,avter to an axle marking the Southwest corner of that certain
parcel of land described in deed recorded in Book 51, Page 69, Deeds,
Records of Los Angeles County, California; thence North 89° 39' 35"
East 869.66 feet along the South line of said land described in deed
recorded in Book 51, Page 69 of Deeds, Records of Los Angeles County,
California; thence South 12° 20' 35" East o6~8.61 feet; thence South
4 ll 55 East 51.50 feet; thence South 88 57 00" West 1019.52 feet
to a point in the East line of the Kueffel and Fletcher Tract as shown
on a map recorded in Book 19, Page 48, Miscellaneous Records of Los
Angeles County, California; thence South 0° 54' 20" East 5.00 feet along
the East line of said Kueffel and Fletcher Tract to the Southeast corner
of the North lOO.O0 acres of said Kueffel and Fletcher Tract; thence
South 89° 00' 40" West 1107.61 feet; thence South 0° 32' 30'~ West
1181.99 feet; thence South 88° 48' 50" West 1672.74 feet to a point
in the West line of Fairview Road, formerly known as Old Newport
Road; thence North 15° 05' 40" East 859.18 feet along the West line
of said Fairview Road; thence South 89° 0~' 13" West 770.45 feet to
a point in the Easterly line of Lot 2 of Tract 1024, as shown on a
m~p thereof recorded in Book 33, Page 33, Miscellaneous Maps, Records
of Ors~ge County, California; thence North 15o 05' 40" East 1162.36
feet along the Easterly line of said Lot 2 to the Northeast corner
thereof, said point being in the Southerly line of Tract 506, as per
m~p thereof recorded in Book 17, Pages 26 and 27, Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of Orange County, California; thence North 89° 06' 40" East
770.29 feet along the South line of said Tract 506 to aoPOint being
on the West line of said Fairview Road; thence North 15 05' 40"
East 209.28 feet along said West line to the Westerly extension of
the South line of Tract 737, as per map thereof recorded in Book 22,
Page 42, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California;
thence North 89° 29' 40" East 295.60 feet to the Southeast corner of
Lot 12, Block D, said Tract 737; thence North 0° 30' 20" West 31.13
feet to the Northeast corner of said LOt 12; thence North 89° 29' 40"
East 660.00 feet along the Northerly lines of Lots 8 and 16 in Block
E, and Lots 8 and 16 in Block F, of said Tract 737 and the extension
thereof, to a point in the East line of Center Street as conveyed to
the County of Orange by deed recorded in Book 915, Page 153, Official
Records of Orange County, California; thence South 0° 30' 20" East
31.13 feet; thence North 89° 29' 40" East 62.03 feet to an angle point
in the City Limit of the City of ~anta Aha; thence continuing North
89° 29' 40" East 1205.12 feet along the Southerly line of the City of
Santa Aha to the point of beginning.
All bearings are as shown on a licensed surveyor's map filed in
Book 28, page 47 of Records of Survey in the office of the County Re-
corder of Orange County, California.
That said Council hereby designated "ST~HEN GRISET ANNEX" as an approp-
riate name for said a~exation.
That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will annex said
territory to and include it within the Santa AnaElementary School District, Santa
Aha High School District and Santa Aha Junior College District and upon the com-
pletion of said annexation, said territory shall be and become a part of said
School Districts.
NOTICE IS HEI~Y GIVEN that June 6th , 1955, at the hour of 7:30 P. M.
in the Council Chambers in the City Nall at Third and Main Streets, in the City of
Santa Aha, California, is the time and place fixed at which said Council will hear
protests made by any person owning real property within said territory so proposed
to be annexed. At any time before said hour, any owner of any of said property may
file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state
the name of the owner and a description and area of the property in the general terms.
